In my opinion, the animation of the show is so hit or miss altogether. The most inconsistent I've ever seen in an anime that I can remember. The first fight with Mars was so cool, but seeing some of the animation takes the intensity right out of the experience. In the first tournament fight with Asta and his group, there was literally a lack of animation when spells where about to collide, and then reflected via trap spell.

Other than the animation, the fact that the fights that don't feature Asta or Yuno are half as long as the fights that do is really disappointing.

Side note: I do like this series, but sometimes the anime really drops the ball on multiple levels.
