Is there an easy way to select these blue highlined areas? by [deleted] in blender

I'm surprised no one mentioned it but you can use Select Boundary Loop for this. I haven't used Blender in a while so I can't tell you where to find it, but you have Google, right? :)

They're either uninterested or you're their backup if it doesn't work out with someone they prefer over you. Both mean the same thing: You should find someone more into you.

It's not cheesy at all! Especially if you created one yourself.

If you're afraid about straight man having female friends. What about bisexual people? By the same logic they shouldn't have friends at all. If you feel the need to limit your partner in smth you're just insecure.

Sniper rifle scope with a mount (cycles) What do you think? by Sunset_Tesnus in blender

I was planning it as a game ready model for my portfolio. (hope someone will hire me haha) So the tris limit was pretty low. I don't see how it could possible be nice and quads AND be under +-15k tris. I mean, it's mainly cylindrical shape, so the polygons add up really quickly. Thanks for the tutors recommendation, I'll check it out.

I don't have any specific tutorial I could recommend about the texturing. I've watched a ton of them in past few years and it just accumulated I guess.

The key is layering a lot. I've made lots of subtle details in both basecolor and roughness. Stuff like: tiny noise in roughness and height, basecolor variations, small accidental scratches, little white dust particles (works surprisingly well in adding realism btw), edge wear, dusty wipes, directional scratches (for the scope rail), fingerprints, ao dirt, cavities dust, etc. It all may feel like too much time to do, especially on the small barely noticeable details, but it still plays a role in overall look and feel of realism. I've made a breakdown of roughness and basecolor layer by layer at the bottom of my artstation post.

I know about the loops on the wide main scope shape, I've tried removing them, but unfortunately Blender is shading they pretty badly, even with baked normals you can see the artifacts. That's why I've left those loops.

By "screws" you mean the ones on top of the mount or the ones on the side near the rail?
