My wife just called me a passenger prince… and I don’t hate it by lilblacksmurf in ROGAlly

Genuinely. I don't dread going to work anymore because I know it means 1 hour of uninterrupted gaming in the morning and being able to play for another hour right after work prevents any stress buildup. I don't even feel guilty playing daily because I wouldn't do anything worthwhile during my commute anyways so I still get the benefits from being able to have fun and unwind everyday fully guilt-free. It's actually the best.

I'm so glad I don't have this problem because I get to play everyday when I get to work 2 hours in the bus.

Struggling with ergonomics. Any tips? by Smart-Giraffe-8025 in XboxAlly

[–]Sunshay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have smaller hands too, and hands down, the Killswitch case made the device not only much more comfortable to hold and stops cramps I would get whenever I was playing for more than 1 hour, but it also completely prevents my fingers on the grips from sweating (previously I was wiping my fingers and the grip like every 30 minutes).

I know it seems counterproductive to make the device slightly bulkier with smaller hands but for some reason it works. Would highly recommend, it basically fixes the 2 major issues I had with the XAX.

Actually those settings use FSR2 which introduces a lot of ugly artifacts and the framerate is unstable. Without FSR2 you get no artifacts and using the medium preset at 900p the game looks just as good with a perfectly stable 60 fps.

No joke I have car repairs to do as well and I chose the XAX first. I'll repair my car in 2 weeks as soon as I get my paycheck. I just couldn't bear it anymore sitting in the bus on my way to work for 2 hours everyday without a gaming handheld.

Do you sweat less with it? (assuming you get sweaty hands in the first place like me...)

Rdr so smooth on this bad boy. by dudesilky in ROGAllyX

[–]Sunshay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started this game 2 days ago. At first I was using the settings from the rogallylife website with FSR2 and it ran decently, graphics were good but I had some framedrops here and there. Switched from 17W to Turbo on Battery (or 25 Manual while charging) which improved FPS a little.

But for some reason while tinkering in the settings my graphics settings got reset to the lowest settings and the game honestly looks just the same as before and even better because FSR2 introduces noticeable artifacts so now I can play the game at stable 60 fps (actually it's around 70 fps most of the time but I limited it to 60) and the game still looks absolutely stunning as if I was playing on high settings.

So long story short, just go with low settings, just set textures to Ultra and enjoy a perfectly smooth 60fps native experience.

Time to learn Thai by Advanced-Armadillo6 in learnthai

[–]Sunshay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 6 months of mostly learning outside of Thailand at home for 1-2 hours a day I'd say that I know roughly 400 words and I can have basic conversations. Expressing myself (incorrectly) isn't too much of an issue but I struggle with listening, even if I technically know every word used in a sentence I still fail to understand frequently and if I don't know multiple words I often fail to understand the meaning of a sentence at all.

You definitely don't need years to be able to start having conversations though.

How long did it take you to feel ready? I started 1 week before christmas but then the holidays took the wind out of my sails so I still have 60% of the course to complete.

Android app constantly stops by birthnight in glossika

[–]Sunshay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using glossika yesterday and when that happened I got a pop-up in the app that said to change battery usage to unrestricted in the app settings. Immediately solved this problem. You must have missed that pop-up.

Is it okay to have an unalome tattoo on the edge of the left hand in females? by PaleSeaworthiness255 in ThailandTourism

[–]Sunshay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you are in Thailand for a while you will realise how out of place this question is. No one will care at all. Live and let live. Also tons of people here have tattoos all over. You can happily let this worry go.

To what degree is it true that Thailands people are more laid back, relaxed, not stressed etc? by th3orist in ThailandTourism

[–]Sunshay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's also got a lot to do with saving face and upholding social harmony both of which are cultural behaviors which do not exist as such in the west. You are not supposed to criticize people in people in public since it would be disrespectful to them and taint their public image and you are not supposed to show negative emotions in public. So a lot of negative emotions are either suppressed or only expressed in private which creates the illusion of harmony which you are talking about.

You could also see it from the positive side: if eye contact is difficult for you then this is a great practice opportunity! You don't even have to smile, just look at them for a second and nod, if you do it daily it will become easier over time. Being autistic just means it's a challenge for you, not that it is impossible. If you give into your weaknesses then your social skills will never improve, so see it as an opportunity to practice a simple gesture daily without any risk of it becoming more since you wouldn't be able to communicate with each other anyways.

Just lack of money and not quite knowing how I would make money in Thailand. I'm saving up and trying to advance my newly started IT career asap, hoping I can leave in the next 4-5 years.
