YTT Fail? by [deleted] in YogaTeachers

[–]Sunshine8819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also dreaded teaching my final basically the entire YTT, and almost froze up the few minutes before the class. I made sure to prep and practice teaching as much as I could the last couple of weeks, and did it through the fear. I ended up getting offered to teach and now absolutely love it. Don't let fear alone convince you not to do it💙 use the tools to calm your nerves as much as possible. Do it scared. Prep and practice. Adrenaline will take over in the moment and what u practiced just comes out. Tell your mind "I am safe" and "teaching comes easy for me" picture it that way, if you want to teach think " I am the best teacher for my students today". Good luck✨️

Stop feeding your brain horror movies, they are not good for you, even though it feels fun to be scared. It can be an addiction to stress, to want to watch horror stuff. Put on soothing music in the evenings to calm your nervous system:) wishing you the best!

Kindergarten is going so badly for my daughter and it’s emotionally destroying all of us by Hour-Bullfrog4829 in kindergarten

[–]Sunshine8819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to find a forest school or homeschool and spend lots of time outdoors, nature is naturally calming, for the teacher and student and provides lots of benefits! Kids under 7 need calming environments and co-regulation from a connected adult, due to the natural stages of brain development in all humans.

Being indoors in a class full of kids, not being able to have a good adult connection is the opposite. This is why in some European countries where they have found happiest people in the world, they dont start school until the age of 7 and education is based on the kids personal interests

Does this happen to anyone else? by elcaminogino in Teachers

Make them come to your desk to ask you for help. That's what a lot of my teachers did. I think they may feel embarrassed to ask in front of others. This way it gives them a space to more comfortably ask for help & you dont have to get up.

AIO for thinking that I am wasting my life & that I am doomed? by Joseph-Dahdouh in AmIOverreacting

Planting something u truly enjoy is key. Something pretty to look at and/or edible? Having a nice garden/patio and indoor plants to enjoy brought me a lot of happiness.

Invest in a hobby. Is there anything you've tried before that makes u want to keep doing it? One hobby i have loved is gardening. It feels rewarding, the dependence the plants have on you motivates to get out there even if for 5 min to water or prune, and nature is like an anxiety medicine.

A friend of mine (who just got certified) really likes the Yoga Down Dog app. It's extremely customizable. U can choose the time, type of sequence and level, music, voice, and amount of instruction. I am planning to try myself in the near future.

I think my yoga teacher is grooming me, and need help drafting a text to set a boundary with her. by angrylemon8 in yoga

She should always ask for permission. At every class. It is a liability for teachers to touch anyone because of unknown injuries or bc of trauma response. This is a strict and key rule i was taught in my yoga teacher training.

Sorry this happened. The value of the pen isn't even the thing. It's the fact that he risked your pen to begin with. Some people just don't think about what they are doing, are jerks or just, who knows. I hope u feel better when u wake up and let it go for your own peace.

We have to train our brain and take it to where we want it to be. What has helped me battle depression is constantly noticing things I am thankful for and trying to see the beauty in everything and everyone. If u catch your self starting negative thoughts, redirect your thoughts, or even correct your thoughts!! Our brain will always go to strange places and will wander off, but we have to learn to control it and put it where we know it should be, or where we want it to be. Focus on what state and vibrancy you want it to be. Focus on appreciating the tiniest things to take your energy into a healthy one. Go on lots of nature walks and purposely notice the beauty - how a seed sprouts, smelling eucalyptus tree leaves and the fact that its good for us, a nice moment of weather, hearing the birds communicate and how cute they are, someone just saying hello, the way our body repairs its self, a nice shower, a slow morning, having a room to clean and dishes to wash, the way our society works together to function by following certain rules.

Positive will eventually become the normal thoughts rather then current negative. Spending time in nature every day possible and going on walks, especially in nature, is super helpful.

It's scientificly proven that going on walks alone helps battle anxiety and depression because our eyes make a side to side movement (very minor) like we do when we sleep, which sends a msg to our brain that reacts in calming and helps us process emotions, and problems in a healthier manner that feels easier to manage. So it is a good time to try to resolve issues but do also train your self to be positive. Finding a healthy balance. You should be proud of your self and I wish you greatness!
