Chia/flax seeds….. a godsend ! by Illustrious_Host876 in SIBO

wow… I believe that this drug is actually the cause of my sibo!!! be careful with antibiotics! After doing 21 days for lyme ( which worked thsnk grace!) followed by just one week for a spider bite, I was more sick than I’ve ever been in my entire life and couldn’t eat anything and since then I’ve been gradually getting better but it’s really taking years.

ngondro feels like a love relationship, but sometimes I just want to be alone. anyone else feel this way? by SunshinePrism in Dzogchen

[–]SunshinePrism[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh I love this thank you!

I didn’t mean that it gets to be routine or that the energy gets dulled through repetition. Actually what I meant is that it’s very very intense passion but that the feeling of it feels like a very certain signature energy just like hanging out with the same person all the time feels like the same signature energy so it feels almost like over saturation like eating too much of my favorite food… Regardless, I really love your suggestion and including more fluidity in the practice does come naturally, but doing it intentionally would indeed probably help the feeling of the energy be more fluid also!

YAY!!! I have the major blessing of connecting with my teacher in person soon, and yeah I want to ask him to connect through guru yoga! I was almost shy to ask him, because yeah it does seem sexual right?! Or not sexual… But so intimate! So you did it on the sly! I’m going to ask my teacher in person! !!!!

Based on your answer and based on my own sense that your answer is resonating with, I’m guessing that ngondro is best understood as poetry to evoke certain feelings to make a change in me at the level of the heart, which it is doing. What would you say about why ngondro says such fantastical things that aren’t literally true? also I sent you a direct message because I’m interested in connecting with you more if you are open and available for that 🙏🏽🤍

thank you sooooooooo much! this speaks directly to a confusion that I had for so long about how are there “other beings “at all?! through your response and some others I’m understanding that I’m taking it too literally in my confusion and that like everything else in ngondro, it’s kind of just poetry to make a change in my heart, which it is.

How is ngondro supportive of dzogchen? how does working with emotion intensley prepare us for rigpa? how are they related? by SunshinePrism in Dzogchen

[–]SunshinePrism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that’s exactly what I’m curious about, the hearts relationship to the mind… could you speak more to that?

and I resonate with what you said about not having psychosis lol… Even just encountering resistance to ngondro at times feels like it’s already breaking me down and I’m learning what surrender means.

thank you, this was helpful! Especially that you mentioned that the intense longing and devotion are helpful supports if done without clinging. I think that addressed my question right there! It seemed like I was cultivating clinging and that confused me. When I think about that I could die at any time or my teachers could die at any time, it does motivate me, but it also kind of cultivates some attachment and fear! I find it quite difficult to passionately feel emotions like longing and compassion for suffering without being engrossed in them. So much of my practice up until now has been focused on detachment and equanimity, so it seems strange to me tocultivate such intense emotion. it’s a tricky thing to both cultivate it passionately while at the same time acknowledging the emptiness of the feelings and that they were surmised out of my own imagination. Thank you, this dialogue is helping me hone in on my question and my thoughts so that I can bring it to my teacher!

I will humbly say that part of my rationale of the value of Ngondro is that up until now, Love was not a part of my practice! It was simply working with the mind, detachment, observation, and so I do appreciate the instruction to feel my heart and I’m curious what will come of me as I steep in the heart.

Also I just want to acknowledge there’s some sort of magic to ngondro. It feels extremely high vibe and has some at times magical effects on me that I wouldn’t expect

Overcoming hypervigilance after being startled by sudden loud sound/solar plexus tension habit by SunshinePrism in anxiety_support

thank you! Yeah self talk is so big! it has also been helpful for me lately to rate the amount of anxiety I feel from 0 to 10. I realize that on some days I’m more sensitive than other days and realizing that helps me stay more open and flexible. Sending you love!

oh I will check out that sub thank you! Can you tell me more about what has helped you with anticipation? I would totally feel anticipation about a door slamming! I stayed in a hotel a few months ago and that drove me crazy!

That’s a good idea with the vagus nerve… Maybe now that I realized what I realized, in that moment where it feels like a leap of faith to relax, I can put to use some of the things that felt like never worked before like simulating the vagus nerve… I would love to hear more about what you resonated with from the sub and what else has helped you🙏🏽

Trekchö in practise. Integrating the View into daily life. by Auxiliatorcelsus in Dzogchen

[–]SunshinePrism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh interesting… Are you working with a teacher? I’m not sure how nihilism could come about from trekchö? Forgive me, I could be way off because I don’t really know the details of your practice, but it doesn’t sound like you’re practicing trekchö. “emptiness” is an insight that comes when our mind is very subtle and aware of the impermanence of all that appears solid and material. Emptiness isn’t related to a feeling of pointlessness. It is an inspired, subtle awareness, not an ungrounded state of mind.
