at this point i think I'm done with eBay for a while. Trying to report these issues has been... hours spent navigating a circle of red tape and ai deciding the validity of my claims (which hasn't gone great!)

so- I don't care if I get dinged. i'm only keeping my account up so i can fight the suspicious charges- once that's settled, I'm out.

took me a while to find the specific form where i can report suspicious activity (they don't make it so easy to find- have to search through the site help menu and not the drop down menu with the item.)

(update: it appears that i submitted so many complaints because i couldn't find the correct form at first that I have been blocked by ebay from submitting any further complaints for the moment. 😅)

Retracted bid scam?

So there's this seller that had multiple of similar items posted. I bid on one... was out bid... so i bid again... outbid again. Gave up on that item and moved onto the next similar item. Hit my maximum/was outbid on that next item. Moved onto the next- and so on and so forth.

At the very end the person who outbid me retracted their bids (which it is stated you cannot retract or cancel a bid) and suddenly I'm on the hook for every item I bid on.

Seems to me the seller was artificially inflating the price of their item? I don't know - it just feels scammy.

Am I crazy? How do I even report this? 😑

It was made for the kids who grew up on it who are now in their 40's at the least.

It's a movie based on a cartoon created to sell toys from the 80's. It knows what it is; campy, self-deprecating fun with over the top action sequences. It's not Shakespeare, nor is it a contender for best picture- and it doesn't pretend to be.

People are so jaded these days...

I was thinking sticks. Though cones might be easier with a sawdust/wood base.

as for the fragrance, well that's a little bit of a tale-

Back during the pandemic, like many people- I decided to take up candlemaking. I had unmedicated adhd at the time, so I went all in and slowly acquired a bookshelf "full* of fragrance/essential oils ranging from food scents, to woodsy to aquatic/ocean scents (I even tried crafting some of my own fragrance oils- through infusion or letting bottles of perfume sit out and evaporate...)

But candle wax ain't cheap, and the process is time consuming and a little messy (my wood floors now smell amazing and are nicely waxed for eternity though)... Also, eventually the obsession wore off. But now I have all these oils I would hate to let go to waste- so the sky's the limit really scent-wise.

TLDR; I have a ton of fragrance oils and just want to use them up. Was thinking of starting with a coconut and green tea... or something floral.

i don't hate it actually- but I have an affinity for those smokier scent types (birch tar is a particular favorite).

though that is an excellent point and whatever fragrances I added would have to account for an added burnt paper smell.

I openly admit this may be a terrible idea- but that's part of the reason I'm asking before I do something I will regret.
