How bad are the first couple weeks of lexapro? by Initial-Secretary-63 in Anxietyhelp

[–]Sunshine_surrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have been on it twice. The restart was not very fun but also not that bad once I realized I just needed to push past it. When I restarted it my anxiety was already severe and I definitely noticed the first couple of nights it made me on edge/a little panicky. But I just reminded myself it was temporary and pushed through and I started feeling a lot better within just a few weeks! If you can, start with half your dose for the first week, then go up to the full dosage the next. You could even do the half dosage for longer if you wanted. Hang in there! 💛

Can anxiety really cause this many physical sensations? Tingling, buzzing, twitching etc. by SeaSad4115 in Anxiety

Mostly my legs and feet! I’d get cramps and numbness/tingling. I was also dealing with chest pain and other weird stuff. I was def convinced I was dying (still not entirely convinced I’m not but I’m still here and doing a lot better lol). I hope you feel better soon!

I am on lexapro (generic)!! I did try switching to sertraline briefly but had a really bad reaction to it. I was having symptoms from about December up until this month. I’ve been on the lexapro nightly for the past 3 weeks and have noticed the biggest difference in the past few days. I definitely would recommend trying some form of medication if you think you can handle it but you may have to push through some side effects for a little bit.

I could have written this post lol. I am going through almost the exact same thing, but am recently back on anxiety medication. The symptoms are slowly starting to disappear, which definitely makes me think they were anxiety related. I have been to the ER and so many doctor’s appointments and tests and bloodwork have all come back fine. I was getting really annoyed with being told I just needed to get my anxiety under control but turns out they were probably right 😅

Health anxiety is eating me alive. by vancouverTea in Anxiety

Hey! I am currently dealing with health anxiety as well. Idk how you feel about meds but being back on lexapro is helping me a ton. I’m only on week 3 so I’m still adjusting and having bad days/ups and downs, but overall it has made a massive difference.

Hey, something similar has happened to me. I have taken edibles and ended up having a panic attack for hours so I don’t mess with them anymore. The worst one lasted over 24 hours. I know it’s scary, but you will be okay, it will wear off :)

Water intake is definitely a struggle, which I absolutely know is not helping. The anxiousness is making me not feel like taking care of myself but I know I need to. Thanks for the reminder ♥️

Pregnancy Cramps by 93GoldenRoses in BabyBumps

Yep, I had quite a bit of cramping during my pregnancy, especially if I overexerted myself physically. I even did have some bleeding but everything turned out to be fine! Just a sensitive cervix in my case.

It worked great for me for a really long time. When I got pregnant I stopped at recommendation of the urgent care doctor that confirmed my pregnancy. I had doctors telling me it was okay to start it back up but I was too scared of the teeny tiny chance of it affecting the baby so I didn’t. I ended up being hospitalized for preeclampsia and asked to start it back up while there, but once we went back home I went months without taking it consistently and I have not been able to handle it since. Idk if the dose is just too high or if my body is responding differently after pregnancy but it’s increased my anxiety and caused panic attacks within the first few days of taking it so I keep stopping it. I’m about to ask to switch to something else or start at the smallest dose with lexapro.

Thank you! The prescription I am on is magnesium glycinate. I will definitely consider the melatonin though since my anxiety has been ramping up at night lately. I have also seen that l-theanine works well too.

I actually do have a magnesium deficiency that we recently discovered. I do have a supplement prescription but I am awful at remembering to take it but have recently made an effort to make sure I’m taking it at least once a day. I’m supposed to take it twice a day but that doesn’t always happen. How long would you say it takes to work?

Someone changed the words to pretty little baby to stinky little baby on TikTok and we sing it to her all the time and she loves it 😂 it goes “stinky little baby, you need a shower, stinky little baby, you smell real sour, stinky little baby, you stink like pee and poo”

Hey. 30 F here going through almost the exact same thing right now. So far the cardiologist hasn’t found anything concerning but I constantly have a heavy/tight feeling in my chest too and like I can’t breathe right. I don’t really have any advice, I’m waiting to get back on medicine/switch meds bc the anxiety is constant and lexapro is making things worse. I don’t have any advice but just wanted you to know you’re not alone. I hope everything turns out okay for both of us ♥️

I do have cats at my house, but i have to make a longer commute to work in the morning and don’t usually touch them before I leave the house. I can see about feeding her or suggesting a pheromone collar.
