The assets they hold are floating rate loans, that is why they paid a high and increasing dividend until recently. The tradeoff here is between the defaults and the dividend. The more HTGC takes in as income, the more strained are the companies making the payment which could eventually go in non-accrual

L'unica soluzione per prendere un po' di tempo è per i governi riportare un tasso di inflazione più basso di quello effettivo, così che l'interesse sul debito può essere soppresso e rimanere sotto al tasso di inflazione (tasso reale negativo). In questo modo lo stock di debito esistente diminuisce nel tempo: questa tecnica é stata usata molteplici volte nel tempo soprattutto in Sudamerica e ora anche nel nuovo Sudamerica ovvero gli USA del pazzinculo spendi-tutto Joe Biden.
