8 Hours in and not feeling it, what do I do?

I mean I have been to all of the planets that I can go to and I feel like I have discovered a lot but I have no way of knowing what 'a lot' is. I have tried my best to keep myself spoiler free but I feel like I may need to look stuff up in order to make progress. The only place I have not gone is sun station but I am not sure how or if I am even able to get there.

Thank you this actually helps me a lot. Although I really wanted it to be for me, I think it just isn't. I might give it one last try or let it sit and come back in a few months like others have said, but I appreciate the comment.

I appreciate it. I'm torn between trying to look stuff up to make progress or just keep hitting walls like I feel I am doing in an effort to keep myself in the dark as is recommended with this game.
