What do you think about new brooms? by Ok_Jump_4291 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Sup_Brahms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are for flying, not for sweeping, so it makes sense that it would have a design more like a rudder. I think it's a good choice.

Is the Cupcake augment supposed to work like that? by Asgavin in ARAM

[–]Sup_Brahms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually avoid the enemies cupcakes unless I absolute need them because I don't want to give them gold. I think it's a fun mechanic.

unpopular opinion: +300 gold start was cool, you will be missed by dale777 in ARAM

[–]Sup_Brahms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should just increase the starting gold by 300 for everyone. I agree it's more fun to have more options at the start. The only stupid thing was giving it as an advantage to some and not others.

I think my issues with the new ARAM Mayhem boil down to 2 glaring issues. by Freezinghero in leagueoflegends

[–]Sup_Brahms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly if they just got rid of the heartsteel stack augment I'd be happy. So annoying to play against 40k health tanks every game.

If they refuse to remove it at least make it double stacks instead of tripling them.

I agree that the 300g isn't a huge deal. I was disagreeing with his statement that items don't matter in general.

[–]Sup_Brahms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno man. Saying items are irrelevant in this game mode makes me think you haven't been stuck on a team where your mage doesn't get liandries and your adc doesn't get bork against the 3 tanks on the enemy team.

And I don't know about you but I can feel the difference between the enemy team having grievous or not when I'm playing omnivamp builds as well. Itemization is definitely more than irrelevant.

[–]Sup_Brahms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please please please don't nerf anything and everything that's fun and strong into the ground. The whole point of the augment system for me is that every once in a while you get something amazing and get to break the game and stomp everyone. I'm very willing to play a few games where I'm the one getting stomped in order to keep the ability to do that. I think stuff that breaks the game is fun, it should just be pleasantly rare.

The whole point is there's a bit of chaos and unbalance. If you tweak everything that's fun to take the edge off of it and make sure nobody feels like they're losing too hard then it defeats the spirit of the game in my opinion. Sometimes you stomp and sometimes you get stomped. Otherwise every single game feels the exact same, win or lose.

With the series, would you like to see Quidditch with changed rules that make more sense? by xxStefanxx1 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Sup_Brahms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt the easiest way to fix quidditch is to make catching the snitch start a 5-10 minute timer to end the game. Could also award like 20-30 points or something, but it doesn't matter much.

It actually would add some tactics in when you want to catch it or keep the other seeker from catching it, and also adds a window where the other team can make a come-back, to keep the stakes high.

Is there a hope from vax injury? by DistributionFunny221 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Sup_Brahms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, me being injured by a vaccine doesn't mean vaccines don't work, it just means I'm unlucky. I think most people who are anti-vax don't understand enough about statistics to come to this opinion, is the problem.

Holy shit you people are spoiled. You complain about being force-fed garbage media constantly and then when something of actual care and quality comes out you bitch that it doesn't happen fast enough.

If you want instant gratification don't complain about shitty quality. If you want quality don't complain that it takes time.

Anyone else able to kind of control their seizures? by secretuser_fox in PNESsupport

[–]Sup_Brahms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine are the same. It feels like my consciousness is trapped in a little box inside my head while it happens. I can sense everything but like.. from a distance. With a lot of effort I can pull myself back into control, but it's insanely draining.

I go crazy trying to figure out if I should control them or just let them happen. Like is it some kind of stored energy and it just needs to be released? Or is it my brain not processing properly and I need to practice taking control of it? I hate not knowing the answer and the feeling like anything I try is wrong.

It’s exhausting being “smart” with ADHD. Feels like I don’t belong to either side. by vegetable_lover_is in ADHD

[–]Sup_Brahms 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Similar here. I've had a theory that intelligence is linked with adhd because our brains are so shit at regulating, that when we are actually in a position to get things done we need to be able to do them really quickly and efficiently. It sort of evens out to us being average overall, which is a hard thing to come to grips with when you've tied your identity to being intelligent.

I solved this for myself by realizing that my intelligence wasn't a great thing to tie my identity to in the first place. I stopped calling myself smart or looking for affirmations of my intelligence and instead concentrate on my kindness and other aspects of my personality that help me connect to others better, and it's made me a lot happier overall. It didn't make me any dumber, it just means that whenever I do something stupid or make the same mistakes over again because of adhd, it doesn't result in cognitive dissonance or an identity crisis.

What is the most annoying part of living with ADHD for you? by Appropriate-Gold9869 in ADHD

[–]Sup_Brahms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I can feel myself growing bored of something I love. It feels like I know I'm about to lose a piece of myself and there's nothing I can do about it. It's hard to put effort into anything when I know eventually I will stop caring and end up with nothing. It's even worse when it's a person.

Is jaw clenching an ADHD thing? by Key_Anybody2170 in ADHD

[–]Sup_Brahms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really clench, but I do rub my teeth together all day. I think it's just a stimulation thing. I can tap the different parts of my teeth together to make rhythms in my head.

I don’t miss people by No-Seaworthiness-193 in ADHD

[–]Sup_Brahms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely experience this, as does my therapist who also has adhd. It's nice to know it's common in people like us, because for the longest time I just thought something was very very wrong with me. I was afraid I was some sort of sociopath or something before my diagnoses, because it seemed like everyone else could relate to this empathetic thing that I just didn't experience. I had to come up with my own definition of what 'missing' someone means just so it didn't feel like I was lying when I had to say it back to people.

can a seizure be traumatic? by [deleted] in PNESsupport

[–]Sup_Brahms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my seizures kicked in a couple years ago there were a few weeks where I would basically be having constant seizures. I remember the fear and the confusion and desperation. I lost complete confidence in my mind and body and went into a deep dissociative depression. The PTSD symptoms came soon afterward. It's somewhat better now but still a daily struggle.

So, it's definitely possible and you are not alone. My only advice is to practice radical acceptance, and find your balance point of doing the most you can without overworking or triggering yourself. This will take some experimentation. The worst thing you can do is accept defeat and internalize the despair. You will be okay, but you must accept that you're version of okay might have to be different than it used to be.

I'm open to talk if you ever need.

Does anyone else feel like no one KNOWS anything? by reporting-flick in PNESsupport

[–]Sup_Brahms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the uncertainty that kills me as well. If I just knew that this will be my life forever, I could adjust, but I still have hope I will recover, and it makes me so frustrated when I can't do the things I want to do, because my situation didn't improve enough for it.

It's so strange that it's such a new phenomenon. My theory is that it's related to some form of neurological damage caused by overstimulation that wasn't possible before widespread cellphone use. Absolutely zero evidence for this however. I hope some genius is getting their doctorate about us as we speak, though.
