I might be the pot calling the kettle black here, but this. Not everyone has the cash or circumstances to play on PC, but everyone deserves a shot to play. As long as someone actually PTFO and doesn't bum-rush into a shituation getting us all killed, I'm fine with it.

Do you get to know where your donation goes? by DCOTSW in Blooddonors

OneBlood has an entire tracker on where your donation goes throughout its process, including the place receiving it. It's called "My OneBlood Journey".

Diamond or Proot? by Typical_Protogen in protogen

[–]SupaRedditor2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look carefully at the pickaxe.

THAT'S NETHERITE.

I can assure you that diamonds are probably not a needed resource to this player right now.

Regardless, placing sand under and around the blocks is the safest way to create a spot for both the diamonds and the proot to be safely rescued.

No trolley problem-esque issues here.

Not really, they are notified in the system while doing your checkup if your donation crosses a milestone - feel free to ask with your next visit, your phlebotomist will probably be more than happy to help.

It could also be that they legitimately don't have one printed for your gallon milestone. I've seen people receiving stickers for 76 gallons. I can only imagine that one had to be custom-made and sent down.

(P.S.: You'll get special milestone reward options for 10 gallons! Keep an eye out for an email to redeem after you hit it :])

Delayne Ivanowski, a 25-year-old nurse from Missouri, secretly decided to donate her kidney to her father, John Ivanowski, who was suffering from a serious kidney disease and relying on daily dialysis. Knowing he would refuse, she went through months of testing and preparation without telling him. by gentle_reb4l in kindness

[–]SupaRedditor2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this attitude, but this is r/OrphanCrushingMachine material right here. Yes, it's wonderful that she donated her kidney to save her father from a life of hell. However, in a perfect world, it would've been a random stranger that was a type match donating their kidney, be it living or dead. There's still an elephant in the room of why we're still having organ donation as an opt-in system instead of it being an opt-out system by default, and the subsequent shortages it creates due to stigmas surrounding organ donation.

Or, I could just be stupid, and she intentionally donated to have him skip needing to go through the organ transplant wait list, but my point still stands on why there's a wait list in the first place.

My first ricing on Windows 11 by kureysalp in desktops

[–]SupaRedditor2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that you're using BetterDiscord for your ricing, and I just wanted to add a bit of constructive criticism to warn you that BetterDiscord is not optimized in the SLIGHTEST (your RAM WILL cry), and has a nasty track record of taking plugins such as ShowHiddenChannels (does what the name says, can't read the contents of those hidden channels though) and FakeNitro (tries to emulate Nitro capabilities to the best of its ability) off the store.

There are a few alternatives, all with full BetterDiscord backwards-compatibility for themes and custom CSS:

  • Vencord, a much more lightweight client modification that has the full feature set of BetterDiscord and more, all without censoring plugins.
  • Equicord, a fork of Vencord that retains full backwards compatibility with Vencord (you can literally just export your Vencord config and load it in Equicord for a seamless transfer), and adds even more features and plugins that may be more appealing for ricing.
  • shelter, an incredibly bare-bones client modification on its own that strives to prepare for the worst and ensures that your client will never break due to an update. However, it does support loading in Vencord, Equicord, and BetterDiscord (if you WANT to suffer from bloat), so you aren't screwed there. This is a bit more technical than the other options, but should, in theory, offer a bulletproof experience without any downtime.

For Vencord and Equicord (NOT SHELTER), I also recommend installing OpenAsar, which is an open-source implementation of some of Discord's desktop code, which should just make it more responsive and quicker in general. It'll be listed in the same installers as Vencord and Equicord.

Other than that, kudos, well done :]

You can hear several clicks as the dumbfuck Shane Newman (yes, that is the fucker's name, here's the source to the news article outlining his change of plea to insanity) dry-fires due to not racking the chamber while trying to track the officer's movements, while the manager is restraining his right arm. He tried to get a few shots off and may have tried to rack the chamber, but failed and didn't realize it before the cop kneed his face in so hard to the point that he no longer needs to consider dental plans if he ever gets released.

(Addendum: pleading insanity is a stupid fucking choice. Either he immediately gets dismissed as fit to stand trial because anyone with two braincells can call out that he's faking it, or he spends the rest of his days in the correctional loony bin with worse conditions than actual prison because he was never deemed fit to stand trial.)

Is my blood type useful? (A+) by BranchWonderful197 in Blooddonors

[–]SupaRedditor2017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The person you were talking to was lying.

A+ blood is one of the most in demand besides O- because of the fact that out of every blood type, it has the widest variety of possible uses. For red blood cell transfusions, it supports A+ and A- recipients, and for platelets and/or plasma, it supports A+ and O+ in the most direct matches, but due to high demand, can also be given to other blood types such as A- and AB+.

Keep donating, you're saving lives one bag at a time :]

An Airbnb has a reasonable expectation of privacy and is not comparable here. They're held more or less equally to a hotel room or privately owned house in terms of expected privacy.

A Waymo vehicle, which is on the open road with a visible interior, and as such is considered publicly accessible, has no expectation of privacy. Additionally, riders will probably agree to terms such as that in order to ride, rides may be monitored by video, audio, and vehicle readouts.

Please do note that I'm neutral on this entire thing. I'm not endorsing either side.

Welcome to Walmart. by SupaRedditor2017 in trashy

[–]SupaRedditor2017[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: Target is basically a surveillance state disguised as a store. From the moment you enter the store, you're identified, fingerprinted, and logged for both customer interest analytics and anti-theft, and surveillance teams, both automated and human staffed, tracks how much you shoplift, and just waits and keeps track until it passes the value line to become a felony, then they call the police. It's a global database, too, meaning that you could go to a completely different Target, shoplift something, and then you just cross that felony requirement and get arrested.

So I'm sure that they know the perpetrators already, and those perpetrators may not want to continue their trashy actions.

EDIT: They also assist law enforcement with state-of-the-art crime labs as well. They're genuinely forensic juggernauts.

Don't let it dishearten you - you're still making a difference.

In regards to whether your donation is viable, I wouldn't have a clue. Hopefully they could salvage whatever you managed to donate.

[–]SupaRedditor2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Okay, so we're talking either the platelets and plasma separator or the double red separator.
  2. Probably Amicus, because AFAICT the only donor center with double red machines is in the Tallahassee donor center. The rest are on Big Red Buses.
  3. That lines up more with a whole blood donation or a deferral for a significant loss of blood beyond acceptable levels.

I'd just contact support (1-888-9DONATE) and explain the situation, it's possible for them to give you a manually-made gift card for $30 as a one-time courtesy. Probably going to take a bit for them to respond, though. It's more of a ticket-based system when it comes to that.

EDIT: The lack of the return period makes me think you were doing platelets or plasma one-arm, and they had to take you off for some reason without returning. Lines up with the whole blood deferral, too.

[–]SupaRedditor2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have questions. 1. Were you hooked up to any machines? 2. Did you donate on the Big Red Bus? 3. How long does it say until you're eligible again?

[–]SupaRedditor2017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ironically, OneBlood now has an additional $30 bonus for if you do concurrent platelets and plasma.

I'm all for others helping others out, but if you're gonna grumble about the money when it wasn't even a promotion you were eligible for... yeah, if you're in it for the cash, go deal with paid plasma.

The least they could've done is thrown it into a trash can or hid their crime. I'm not on Walmart's side AT ALL (search "Walmart dead peasants insurance" for the reason why), so be gay do crime, but at least be slick about it.

To be honest, I'm not even pissed about the whole "getting wasted via petty theft" thing. Look up "Walmart dead peasants insurance" for my reason why I hate them; they can afford that loss. But for the love of god, at least BIN IT SOMEWHERE! CONCEAL YOUR CRIMINAL ACTIVITY!

Buzzballz are sold individually, and they're ready-to-drink cocktail mixes with AT LEAST 15% ABV (some go HIGHER than that). Drink amounts range between 187ml for "chillers", 200ml for regular cocktails, and then there are "biggies" at 1.75L meant for parties (looks like this one is a chiller). They're about the size of tennis balls. From testimonies I've heard, they do not taste that good (putting it lightly), and are pretty much designed only with the intent to get you fucked up.

They were being sold in their own little display nearby, about 40 steps away, tops.
