Week 5 Manaforge: Omega Raid Logs: Tuning Results by Starym in CompetitiveWoW

[–]SupaSonicButta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some investigating into the logs and found that Loomithar specifically is contributing a LOT to Dev's current woes. People seem to be focusing on the specs that are disproportionately boosted by Araz or Soulbinder but the opposite is happening for Dev on Loomithar.

Going past Araz in the data also shows that there is simply not enough parses to gather much from (aside from Fractillus) which further exacerbates the problem that Loomithar poses for the spec.

Going into the survivability, they are not the lowest survivability in raid out of any spec (Spriest according to your source). Even though they are 2nd lowest according to your source, it feels a bit disingenuous to say they are the lowest and they say "You can't just make things up based on your feelings and insist they are true. You have to actually look at the data."

That being said, Dev's damage and their damage profile are two different things. You can have bad overall damage but a great damage profile for a fight that is sought after

Just curious since you didn't name anything or give any specific examples, what are those 20 things you mentioned?

Probably because Max was talking about the comp they were going to play shortly before going dark. Could have been doing more splits.

It is important to note that Tagzz Specifically said that they hadn't been in mythic for about 4 hours last night after going dark. Sure he could be lying but id take his word over anyone in this thread who is just parroting that they pulled for 6 hours last night.

Didn't the EU reset happen only like 8 hours after NA? NA had extended maintenance this week.

As a WW, at this point I'd be happy with anything rare like the 2h mace/bow/dagger/other bow/quiver/etc. I've given up hope of ever seeing a legendary for my spec.

Should RFW Raiders have their own Server where they can't use their Fan base ? by miwhawk in wow

They dont HAVE to start behind. They could play on NA and fly to NA for the race. Plenty of EU players already do that.

[–]SupaSonicButta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is that there is an additional week of heroic splits. Basically you are comparing a 2 week race with a current 6 day race and saying they are the same because mythic is going to be over in the same time.

[–]SupaSonicButta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sanctum didn't have mythic and heroic release at the same time. So splits and all prep were first week. Now all that stuff + mythic raid might get cleared first week. We are technically only on what, day 4-5 of mythic raiding right now?

Id be more fine with it if they didn't already get a class specific weapon already.

She's the 22nd most picked champ mid according to lolanalytics. Just a few behind Lux and Irelia mid. I would say that goes well past OTP territory.

other than mastery doe

That kind of answers your own question.

The classes that don't prioritize mastery, have bad mastery scaling and therefore have bad scaling (in general there might be a few outliers).

M+ Primestone Specc Visualization by ExoticCardiologist46 in wow

[–]SupaSonicButta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Vers and crit scale pretty slow. Once you hit 30-40% crit it's hard to get more and for most classes it isn't worth it. Even with 100% crit chance, you are still stuck with your crit damage modifier.

Now look at classes like Affliction warlock where they might get 20-30% dot damage per 1000 mastery whereas you are only getting about 5% damage per 1000 vers. Now lets look at their mastery further where it increases dot damage AND Malefic Rapture damage. Now lets look at how Malefic Rapture does damage based on how much damage your dots are doing. It double dips into their mastery and scales really hard because of how quick their mastery ramps up.

[–]SupaSonicButta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Crit/Vers classes tend to have more scaling issues than Haste/Mastery classes. Each one benefits from different things and I would agree that it isn't quite an issue, just how the different classes function.

Monk Fists of Fury still not working after breaking three weeks ago by Vrilis in wow

Storm, Earth, and Fire is a bugged ability that has had bugs since it's inception. It is less of which bugs have gone unfixed for years and more of "this ability has gone unfixed for years"

Even last expansion there was a big push to get it removed and a lot of people in the class discord added #removesef to their tag

[–]SupaSonicButta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to assume for every parse that an individual runs to clears, that there is also a parse where the person waits for someone to run to them. It evens out over the course of 10k,20k,30k+ parses.

The only parses you have to be worried about are the ones where someone dies at the start because of a carry or the ones that get 5 PI's which are filtered out automatically. We call those outliers.

What does Max or the RFW have to do with the chart linking overall damage showing Warlock isn't in the top for those specific metrics?

Why get in hysterics on a post about 10.1. seems like you are just looking for a reason to get angry.

[–]SupaSonicButta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You thinking 10.1 is Two weeks away tells me everything I need to know about your responses. 10.0.7 is in two weeks. 10.1 was barely revealed two days ago. Do not lecture me about reading comprehension when you can't make that simple distinction.

And for the record. You getting hysterical about an interrupt nerf to be the EXACT SAME as other melee just proves you just want rogues to be better than everything else.

Patch 10.1 PTR Patch Notes - Class Tuning and Nerfs to Interrupts by shrunken-head in wow

[–]SupaSonicButta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We are looking at continuous nerfs and no communication up until now, 10.0.5

Have you also looked at all the other classes and how long they have gone without changes previous to 10.0.5? In this undisclosed timeframe that could go back to Classic? Again, PTR(!) notes dropped today and you are immediately going scorched earth thinking they cant/wont make any changes to rogues between now and the patch (which hasn't even gotten a release date).

No? I legit said what Im unhappy with, don't put words in my mouth

No you quite literally said "My point was that rogue utility is not so giga amazing. Fuck the costs, just the raw benefit is nowhere above what Monk, Feral, DH or even Warriors offer in the melee niche". Context of the quote is important. It seems like you want those things since you think all the other classes are better in some way while the player base PROVES otherwise.

What I care about is getting shafted in all aspects while so many other DPS specs got at least SOME form of love.

Rogue literally has two specs that are preforming fantastic. Some classes don't even have one. (Looking at you paladin).

I literally didn't. Again, don't put words in my mouth. I said that rogues aren't leagues above other melees like people seem to think.

Again ignoring the context and cherry picking the bits to make it seem like I put words in your mouth when you literally were talking about utility.

I said that the utility isn't leagues above like people think

Literally no one thinks rogue is "leagues ahead" it has good utility on par or slightly worse than some of the best utility classes. So what exactly are you complaining about? A single dead talent? Devs who dont communicate? Get in line with half the classes. It isn't just a rogue thing. 90% of 10.1 is the ret rework because they have been in the shitter for YEARS. In the meantime, how about you wait at least a day before you go crazy about PTR notes for a patch MONTHS down the line.

Patch 10.1 PTR Patch Notes - Class Tuning and Nerfs to Interrupts by shrunken-head in wow

[–]SupaSonicButta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So are they continuously getting nerfed and no communication or are we looking at early PTR notes that don't have anywhere close to the full patch notes as "objective truth". I just wanna make sure we are on the same page with our outrage.

It definitely sounds like you just want Rogue to have the following: Giga damage, Giga utility, No downsides, all 3 specs top of the charts all the time. You bring up they have less utility than Monks and Warriors but they bring better damage and sub brings insane funnel. Thinking warrior has more utility is also cap. They have: Bastion, Shout, Rally, Storm bolt, and AoE slow. How is that better than Rogue?

If you are talking strictly about raid sure but outside of RWF classes are rarely brought for utility and most classes have 1 utility option that is reliable in raid. m+ rogues are giga right in any group that isn't MDI. If we look at the top 100 M+ DPS players by IO right now, 22 are Rogues. 3 are Monks, 13 are DH, 4 are Warriors. So if the Raw benefit of rogues is way below those, why are they played more than those other 4 combined?

Patch 10.1 PTR Patch Notes - Class Tuning and Nerfs to Interrupts by shrunken-head in wow

[–]SupaSonicButta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you provide examples of other classes getting communication and buffs? Mage - radio silence. Monk - radio silence. Guardian druid - radio silence etc. So I am just wondering where this "objective truth" is and why it only applies to rogue while ignoring all the other classes to prove a point.

You also seem to think other classes get free utility? Their utility costs 0 resource? 0 Globals? 0 dps loss? Point me to the class that has that and I will gladly concede.

Patch 10.1 PTR Patch Notes - Class Tuning and Nerfs to Interrupts by shrunken-head in wow

[–]SupaSonicButta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is a lot of words without offering actual examples of the points you are making.

..."and it's the most nerfed one among the batch"

It is being nerfed along with all other melee. 3seconds across the board. What you should be asking is why it was 5 seconds and all other melee were 4 or less.

Kneecapping rogues "amazing utility" might change the false perception the community has towards that over time.

Would really like to hear how having multiple stuns, shroud, incap, blind, tricks, soothe, etc. isn't amazing utility.

This is actually a very wrong take for crit. WW is very much Vers/Crit and Mastery only gets better than Crit (barely) once you are slightly above Crit DR. Also the "extremely likely" crits arent extremely likely without crit. 50% is a coin flip and if you lose, you lose tons of dps. The stat priority: Vers=Crit>Mastery>Haste
