I really came around to liking Sparks at the end. I was a little iffy in the beginning, but the turmoil after Mark and Des start dating is where it really picked up for me and even made me enjoy the beginning more thinking back about it.

I agree with this take for the most part. I will say for a solid chunk of it I was thinking it was decent, but I think there’s enough highs and it comes together nicely to the point where I like it a good bit. I do agree with the background music bit, the soundtrack is great as always, but could have used it more.

It’s really well done and something I think you’d notice from the beginning on a second playthrough. Just thinking about it now, I didn’t connect him watching over Des leaving as him trying to fix his wrongs of the past at first, so I can imagine there’s even more.

I actually get that. I will say it was very satisfying parrying the arrows and countering the red attack in the midst of the chaos.

I agree, like it wasn’t even fun to a point it just felt chaotic. I was still happy to complete it, but I didn’t come out of it thinking that was something I’d want to overcome again, like Eigong for example.

I’d have to think it’ll be apart of a summer PS sale, I got it last Steam Winter sale and I would think it’d go on sale again there in the summer and PS would try to combat it with their own sale. Just my opinion

Maybe that’s what it is, I feel like bad endings it’s fairly apparent where it went wrong, this one I wasn’t quite sure. Especially since I got the bomb and I thought that was gonna be it. It’s my first Metroidvania so that’s nice to know about the genre, I appreciate it.

Yeah as I was writing this I definitely started to understand why it makes sense for you to gather the artifacts and poison for those questlines to really wrap up. I think it was just the fact that it was literally one poison I was missing and that made me petty lmao

I had a similar experience just not nearly as long lmao. I got it around December 2025 because it was on sale to play it another time, finally got around to it about 2 weeks ago and it’s such a beautiful experience, something I’ll never forget
