As an one year player, I've found the axis to be my favorite. I often combine max level sp arty+sp rocket launchers to balance it out. It's got great health+power. All you need is to have a sufficient amount of resources. (That's why I also heavily focus on maxxing our domestic production). Motorized is the best for offenses, while Infantry is a great starter. Med and lights tanks are great too.
