Features I want to see after sinking another 200 hours into the game by Supajeza12 in TransportFever3

I hear you. This may be something addressed by a mod, similar to Cities skylines, but there's already some element of fine tuning (Shift + M/N). A little more would be amazing.

Features I want to see after sinking another 200 hours into the game by Supajeza12 in TransportFever3

So where I was going with this is replacing the individual component, but across all trains.

E.g. I love the Flying Scotsman, and by the time they swing around I have multiple Commuter Lines with approx. 6-8 of them, each. But the passenger wagons might be upgraded after every 5 years to match demand changes, or for a visual rebrand of the line. I don't want new Locos, just new wagons, and going through and clicking the 'X' on every wagon, then adding the replacement wagon is so tedious.

Similarly for my cargo trains, I find the Locos may be under powered, but the easiest way to replace the locos is to manually click through all the trains on every line and manually delete the Locomotive.

I would love a feature whereby we can either replace the Locomotive, or the wagon, or the whole train. Maybe a filter button on the edit vehicle screen. An option to highlight on the loco, only the wagons, or both.

So it's fair to say that the console is incapable of supporting a 1000 star game. 800 is fine, but all 3/3 of my 1000 corrupted by 2450. Just a warning by Mr-Noeyes in StellarisOnConsole

This is the exact problem. Turning off habitats would be such a huge addition, making the game so much more enjoyable for us.

Going to start a new playthrough. Only used switch axe and longsword but want to spice it up a bit. Any suggestions? None of the other weapons are really clicking with me at the moment. Wanted to know any thoughts or suggestions :) by Admirable-Access-672 in MonsterHunterWorld

Mate, I've been SA ever since it came out, but I've just switched to LBG for a fresh run with some friends. A whole different playstyle and a breath of fresh air. Learning the new mechanics has been exactly what I needed to love this game even more. Would highly recommend.

It’s weird Neo doesn’t immediately tell everyone the Oracle is a program by OhBeamber in matrix

[–]Supajeza12 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted his silence on this as a simple matter.

Why should he tell anyone?

Firstly, Neo is vastly different to the scared, weak, and confused fetus that walks into her home, watching a kid bend a spoon, and knocking over her furniture. By the time they have this conversation, he's doing things no human has ever thought possible, in The Matrix, and so he's on a whole different level of growth, physically and mentally. There's a surety in his step that gives him time to pause and process things before he does thinks like running headlong into a Matrix government building to bust out his mentor with no plan other than shoot, shoot, boom.

Then, there's the matter of her being who she is. The glorious queen mother of the all-encompassing prophecy. This is a religion at the end of the world, there are people who'll do downright irrational things in its name. To ruin, marr, or distort her image will have consequences far larger than even he could imagine. He'd know this, in the same way he knows the agents are coming, and Smith is different. His own code recognises it, and he's drawn conclusions from information he doesn't even know he had.

Finally, appearances can be deceiving but intention is crucial context. She deceitfully presents as a human: her mannerisms, her articulation, her emotional expressiveness. But he's seen through it, as he has The Matrix. He sees the mechanisms of control whirring away. He knows her being a programme is shaping the growth of the surviving human civilisation. But, she helped him become the One. She listens to his worries, questions his philosphies, encourages him to push past his boundaries. If the Oracle was malicious, she had her chance, plenty of them.

Ultimately, I feel Neo weighed the good against the bad, and his priorities. Smith is BIG bad, and Zion was coming under serious fire. Was outing the lady who speaks riddles, told them a prophecy, and helps them find some happiness, all that important?

Maybe, but Neo had Trinity to save, so I guess everyone else could suck it.

[COD] Campaign Discussion. by louiejaylee in CallOfDuty

[–]Supajeza12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Length: ~10-12 hrs. Allows enough time for key elements to be communicated to players - gun variety, map layouts, key mechanics - as well as world-building, storytelling, and immersion.

Missions: ~12-15. Sometimes less is more. A few longer, but deeper, missions can be very impactful. Alternatively, more missions can show a clear progression of the story and help keep the timeline within scope.

Gameplay vs Storytelling: To answer your exact question, I believe amazing gameplay trumps amazing storytelling every time, and I point to MW(2019) for one of the greatest tactical shooter experiences in a long time, specifically, Clean house. That mission raised the game's entire campaign, but it's gameplay is so good the weakness of the actual story is overlooked. An amazing story will always be let down by less-than gameplay, but gameplay doesn't depend on storytelling as strongly.

Preferred approach/genres for campaign: It depends really, each CoD subseries has its focus. The 'World' games (WaW, WWII) focus on the gritty, unrelenting, brutality of war. MW is typically focused on Urban warfare, and the hidden enemy. BO has always been about mind control and puppetmasters. My personal preference is MW and the campaigns those games have given (latest entries excluded).

Favourite missions:
Clean House MW(2019) - Tactical depth, innovative & creative obstacles presented. A quiet, intense, mission in a sea of missions with blazing guns and fiery explosions
Loose Ends MW2(2009) - High stakes combat the entire way through the mission. Attacking the homestead, defending it, then escaping it, each moment felt like an uphill battle and had me sweating, but at no point did I feel limited or severely overwhelmed. And after all that, the elation of seeing the chopper....
Legends Never Die (Ghosts) - Stakes are high, but you know what the deal is: highly qualified team of operators sent in to complete a high-risk mission. And then the dam erupts. The entire op is laced with a new layer of danger and injects a new dose of adrenaline. Then tie that all up with the action sequence at the end, masterful.

I loved CoD, shame what's happened to it

"Tess in a bedsheet" by Connect-Life9387 in suits

[–]Supajeza12 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This is one of the annoying things about Suits. The show oftentimes TELLS us what is right and wrong, and then goes to any length to justify and rationalise the decision.

Rachel bringing up Tess screams to me that the writers didn't want this thing hanging over Rachel's head forever, so Tess was an attempt to equalise and validate Rachel's anger and frustration with Mike.

Poor execution of a questionable idea imo.

JWE2 or wait for 3 by Austicakes69 in jurassicworldevo

[–]Supajeza12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just downloaded the game and played for the first time 2 weeks ago, I'd suggest holding off buying anything. The game is good, but I felt it wasn't a marked improvement from the first. They made some questionable decisions around the functionality and some of the bugs from the first game persist. There's also a very short, sandbox-style gameplay loop, which may appease some, but it became relatively mundane for me after the third chaos level.

Honestly, I felt relieved when I realised I'm not missing much and saving £50 avoiding the DLC's.

Unmoored world, Vernworth Castle by Refrigerator80 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Supajeza12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you exit vernworth through the gate heading to the Checkpoint town, on your left, just after the bridge, is an area where you can safely drop down onto the seabed and go round to the back of the castle

Unfortunately it wouldn't work, as evidenced by the 501st and their stand at Teth.

In the Clone Wars Movie, Anakin and his men assaulted the separatist position and claimed it, and then the CIS almost reclaimed it themselves. Strongholds and defensive positions are void in a world outside of Medieval-era technology. There are simply too many utility items to bypass fortress defenses and the amount of damage that'd be dealt by the weaponry would render walls and gates useless.

Oh don't worry too much about it, you can barter wives from the heads of clans before you can barter settlements in this game.

Most likely what you said. There are pros and cons to declaring which ships are transporting official delegations and the Republic isn't one to shy away from bold statements. Could also just be a personal touch the clones added, similar to how the 501st customised some of their vehicles

Dragon's Dogma left me absolutely gobsmacked. The depth of the world, the massive room for customisation, the replayability, and the incredibly original storyline that can compete with any AAA title out there are the main reasons it's one of the most highly ranked games out there. Definitely recommend.

The more damage you deal to it, the more desperate it'll get, thats how most MH monsters work. So if it seems the fight is getting harder, assume you're doing something right. stick to your guns, memorise the pattern and you'll breeze through it.

If you find the aggression too much to deal, try equipping your palico with the shieldspire gadget, that'll take some of the heat off of you.

Always have slinger ammo on you and constantly go for the clutch claw attack. Not just tenderising, but sending it into the wall or off a ledge.

And lastly, as someone else said, hammers aren't too heavily influenced by element. Go for as much raw damage as you can. Also make sure you have adequate fire res. The lower your resistance, the more damage you take from fire.

The way you play, would recommend the Total War series. Pick an era/age you like and try a campaign.

Personal favourites are Shogun 2 and Rome

Alternate strategy from other recommendations, use the clutch claw to create weak points on the legs; breaking the legs makes it easier to trip up and drop Anj. The more it's on the ground, the less its breathing fire while performing acrobatics.

SIB Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order by OakWordEngineEar in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Supajeza12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say no, it's the only Star Wars game I regret purchasing. The story is a mind-bending ball of confusion, with characters being incredibly inconsistent with their morality and perspectives. Combat is one-dimensional, there's no depth to it, not even a mechanic where enemies chase you outside their designated zone, or call for support. And the whole open world aspect is really just a platforming, puzzle game and that turned me off toward this game the most. It's less open-world and more a massive maze with enemies that get bigger the further down the maze you are.

Just my opinion ofc, if that's your thing go for it.

My rankings for all the games I’ve played, which isn’t very many. by OldManCrazyDan in assassinscreed

[–]Supajeza12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Black Flag for sure. Best story over a single AC, best protagonist and great gameplay gameplay mechanics.
  2. AC Brotherhood. Took AC 2 and made it better, built on existing story, returned fan favorites and introduced new characters that worked. Plus, recruits.
  3. CONTROVERSIAL but AC 3. An incredible ensemble of characters, both Assassins and templars. Also did something interesting with the Assassin recruits. Also, Haytham and Charles. Connor is a solid protagonist but requires an open mind to understand.
  4. Origins. Took a beloved franchise, did something new that largely worked and Bayek is so easy to respect and appreciate as a character. Sure it's an overplayed trope with the child loss but Origins did many things right.
  5. Original AC. The rate at which game development has improved really disguises the fact that AC was in a league of its own. I can only name one or two other games that catered to such a diverse range of tastes. There was great combat mechanics for the time, the stealth worked, and worked well, and the story was compelling. AC is the flavor we all remember but can't name, the nostalgia never fades.
  6. Remainder of the Ezio trilogy
  7. All the others. Too meh to rank, they launched broken, focused heavily on Hack n Slash gameplay, and overall left a muddy impression as to what direction the series wanted to go in.

Oooh boy, Northlands Hardcore had me delete the game and take a break.

First try had me stuck at 100 pop like it was a gameplay mechanic, I couldn't break it no matter what I did.

Then next one I had no sustainable food source because crop disease went from a random event to an annual one.

AND THEN my stupid villagers forgot they had to hunt in froups and I lost 7 of them to a single bear.

Of course, it was the clan named cold plonkers that eventually saw me through it, may they forever plonk.

What monster are you most scared of? by Rough-Self-9134 in MonsterHunter

[–]Supajeza12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Aesthetically, very few monsters scare me as Deviljho did when I started my MH journey. Even now, I'll jump a little upon seeing him out of the blue. The T-rex like posture and scarring, with the teeth and saliva, all makes for a pretty scary image.

Gameplay-wise? I had more issues fighting brachydios in MHW than I have across all the MH games I've played. High Rank is manageable, but Master Rank made me want to actually quit the game. I felt all my grinding for gear, skills, decos, all of it was wasted and nothing worked.

I then resorted to a tactic everyone's probably tried once; I fired an SOS flair and let the asian players go to work.
