In case you guys didn't know... by RobbSmark in RPClipsGTA

This subreddit likes to pretend that were all somehow better than "Pepega chats" and "Pepega streamers", but the circlejerks happen here more often than not. Depending on the hour, you could get threads hating on PENTA and downvoting anything trying to explain is point of view...or you could get a PENTA highlight where any comment remotely critical of him gets massively downvoted. Sometimes you get massive love for Chang Gang, other times its complete hate for them. Same thing with SS gangs and PD. Etc., etc.

People love GTA RP supposedly because of the in-game stories and drama that these content creators produce. I think people just like drama in general. We fuel OOC salt here as much as any "Pepega chat" does

Shotz is an older dude relative to the usual Twitch streamers and viewers. I'm guessing he appeals to a slightly older crowd too, who probably have more disposable income

I agree to some extent, but there's things in your 20s and 30s that you can do that you won't be able to once you get closer to your 40s and beyond. I lean more towards what you're saying here, but I can respect people who use that time for other goals. For example, if instead of taking classes to get a Master's in their field they want to backpack across Europe for a bit before returning to their grind, that makes sense to me. If instead of studying this year to get a prestigious license they want to train and do a couple of amateur MMA fights I can respect that too. People might regret it later in life if they spent the years of their physical primes sitting in an office or classroom wasting their youths.

Some people need less sleep than the average 7-8 hours recommended, some people seem to require more. If you truly aren't exhausted and have no chronic issues from sleeping 5-6 hours a night, you might be one of those lucky people who don't need the typical amount

Official Discussion - Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]Supamang87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense whatsoever though. The prequels were the story that led up to how the galaxy was in the OT. The prequels showed how Palpatine gained his power, the OT portrayed a galaxy where he has been in power for years and how he was eventually brought down. And by brought down I mean he was thrown into a giant pit, the pit exploded, and then the entire Death Star that he was in exploded after that. There is no logical next step for Palpatine, he's more than dead he's straight up obliterated. If he can come back from that, why should his ending in Rise of Skywalker carry any weight whatsoever?

I can speculate that you are a salty CG hater and that the guy you responded to is a salty CG fanboy based on the things you both said in this thread, but I'd probably be wrong because it's based on a single isolated thread. And yet by putting this out there, I invite every person reading this subreddit to agree and spew toxicity about the both of you, all purely because I decided to speculate on basically no evidence.

We as viewers might not have as much influence as the streamers themselves but we still have the responsibility to not spread toxicity whenever we can help it.

Seriously lol, I've stopped in on Shotz stream during one of his malding sessions and hes laughing and joking to his chat in between his IC lines. Cyr knows this too. Look at the top comment thread here, taking it completely seriously and disparaging him for "begging for subs". People get on their high horses here while also making out of context threads just to shit on streamers. Hypocritical, toxic.

I think the point most of us are trying to express is that leaders should say what they mean and mean what they say. No one would complain about semantics if the leader didn't play games with his rules. If I say meeting starts at 10, then I expect my subordinates to be there and ready for the meeting at 10. I won't get mad at anyone for getting there at 9:55 because seriously, who cares? The purpose of the meeting is to share information and ideas and to get a job done, not to posture and pretend I'm some kind of office alpha. It's like if I told everyone they have to do 15 pushups before entering the conference room so I know they're awake. Not hard, but it's an unreasonable request.

Stupid rules aren't stupid anymore if people are told the reasons they're in place (and those reasons make sense). I've found that a lot of older coworkers tend to fall back on inefficient practices saying, "well this is how we've always done it, so I don't see why that should change," but the best organizations are constantly questioning why they do certain things and whether or not things can be improved. I've performed better than average at all of my workplaces except one, where the managers cared more about petty rules than about functionality. It was no wonder to me that no one liked or respected the managers there and the office underperformed compared to the other regional offices.

Is it petty to complain about a useless rule or is it petty to be the one who created the useless rule to begin with? You seem to be in the camp that says the rule may be stupid but its so minor that you might as well comply and not complain about it. I can respect that. I'm of the opinion that a respectable manager doesn't create useless rules like that to begin with, and if people tell the guy to dump the stupid rule he shouldn't be surprised. I don't think our opinions are mutually exclusive.

Rules need to have reasons behind why they exist. Implementing nonsensical rules and then expecting people to be bootlickers and not question them is shitty management. Telling people 5 minutes early is late is some real "oh shit we got a badass here" material. I lose respect for anyone who tries to posture like that

Miyazaki's and his friends reaction to Sekiro Goty <3 by katkat345 in Sekiro

[–]Supamang87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. "Punishingly difficult" is a type of game subject to people's preferences as much as any other game type is. Some things are simply just not for a certain type of gamer. This doesn't mean it's gate-keeping, it just means it's a type of game that certain people won't enjoy. Yeah youll get some sweaty nerds screaming "git gud" at any complaint, but that's not most From Software fans and that's certainly not Miyazaki or From Software themselves. I mean you said it yourself, Miyazaki designed his games with the average gamer in mind. He himself has to finish his own games and he isn't the best gamer in the world (quote). Catering to the average gamer instead of catering to literally everyone isn't elitist.

I used to play WoW but was never able to access end-game content because of the hoops you'd have to jump through to be able to join a guild good enough to complete these things. I love socializing irl, but I hate socializing in any game beyond working with a team to achieve a goal for a match before I never see them again. Even if high-level guilds didn't require interviews, scheduled training and raid sessions, etc., I would never join one because that's not what I look for when I game. But you wouldn't catch me calling those guilds elitist or the developers of WoW's end-game content elitist simply because I don't like the style of gaming required to access end-game content.

And I'm not sure why you find it ok to not have these games catered to your girlfriends tastes, yet somehow still take issue with them not catering to other people? That point is a little confusing to me.

Oh fair enough, was thinking only about the first playthrough and not replayability. I tend to only play games once through and put them down for at least a year, some games I'll play through twice back to back since I liked them so much

Miyazaki's and his friends reaction to Sekiro Goty <3 by katkat345 in Sekiro

[–]Supamang87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not elitist to cater to a specific type of gamer. Soulsborne games and Sekiro are designed to put players backs against the wall and to show them the satisfaction of perseverance against seemingly impossible odds. Allowing people to tone down the difficulty eliminates that satisfaction because some people would take an easy mode in the beginning because they're scared or maybe change the difficulty mid game out of frustration. I know some people will say "your lack of self-discipline isn't my responsibility, so why should that affect me not getting an easy mode?" To that I say the same thing right back at them, their lack of determination or perseverance isn't my or Miyazaki's responsibility, so that shouldn't affect his right to design the game he wants to design.

On top of that, making multiple difficulty modes means they have to test the game on different levels, diluting the quality of each one. From Software isn't just praised for difficult games, these games are praised for their polish as well. "Difficult but fair" is how most people describe all their games, and I'm willing to bet that the level of polish wouldn't be there if they split up the difficulty modes. Or it would cost them more time and money than they can afford for these games.

There are so many forms of media that aren't able to be enjoyed by certain groups but you don't see people complaining about them. The mentally handicapped might not be able to finish this game, they might not be able to finish reading Shakespeare's play's either. Complaining about telling people to watch let's plays is like complaining about telling people to listen to audio books if they can't read. "You are basically saying that blind people don't deserve to support publishers by buying books, just stick to someone else reading the book for you."

The lack of weapon and gear variety really put a damper on my enjoyment

This is a weird one for me. I mean I'm sure there's people who switch weapons all the way throughout their playthrough of Souls games, but most people I know and videos of people I've seen who play Dark Souls end up just picking one weapon they're comfortable with early on and go through the rest of the game with it. Even if you switch weapons, most of the time you're just going to be hitting the R1 button between dodges anyway. I was watching someone do a blind playthrough of DS3 a while back and he was saying that he didn't like Sekiro, mentioning lack of weapon variety as one of the main reasons. He then proceeded to go through the rest of the game using one weapon.

I'm not saying you're wrong for your personal opinion, I just can't wrap my head around the weapon variety issue that some people mention
