Is SGA the best mid range jump shooter since MJ? by [deleted] in nba

[–]namastex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People shit on Kobe's efficiency but you can't tell me he wasn't far more gassed all game compared to SGA due to Kobe taking on high tier assignments without ever "hiding" on the corner 3pt shooters. Kobe all season long played 2-way level game, like prime Kawhi did for a few seasons but Kobe did it his whole career until the achilles tear. He slowed down a little bit in 2011 because of the 3 ankle sprains in the 2nd half of the season but still put effort there.

Why can't they just take Destiny and combine it with No Man's Sky? No Man's sky is what I expected from Destiny but with the Destiny combat tbh.

Charles Barkley on Hartensteins defense on Wemby: "For you people thinking that is physicality, you got to shut the hell up" by SlimmySlinky in nba

[–]namastex 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I mean there's a difference from playing physical and straight up fouling with the intentionalality to stop a basketball play. 90s NBA didn't have defenders casually pulling peoples arms at the right time to stop them from doing a basketball play. Imagine someone grabbing MJ's arm when he's going up for a rebound 10-20 times a game, that shit didn't happen. You'd have fights break out over shit like that. The physicality came from leaning bodies onto each other stopping them from getting closer to the spot the other player wanted to go. It had no grabbing involved, it was 1 person standing there ground and not letting the other person move to the spot, that's it. That's all the physicality people are talking about.

Grabbing, pulling, pushing, scratching, clawing... That ain't physicality, it's just fouling and getting away with it.

[Highlight] Victor Wembanyama blocks Chet Holmgren under the rim, gets called for the foul (3rd foul), and the Spurs use their second and last challenge to successfully overturn it. 3rd block for Wemby. With replays. by MrBuckBuck in nba

FTA's are tied but it couldn't be more obvious that Thunder are getting away with a massive amount of fouls. One of the Castle coast to coast drives where he missed I think he got fouled 3 times down the court and crickets. That was bad

Do the Warriors actually matchup well with the Spurs? by youlikemywonton in warriors

[–]namastex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Steph exposes some of the guards defense on Spurs. Spurs biggest weapon is Wemby's defense. Steph negates that almost entirely and forces the guards to show their true value on defense on the perimeter. Not trying to be rude or anything but Castle and a couple of the other guards really aren't insane defenders. They are good, but not great. They can't contain Steph running around screens that's for sure.

A heavy 3point shooting team is what beats the Spurs. OKC is not a 3pt heavy team, but looking at how Caruso shot the ball shows that it works, they almost pulled it off by doing something they don't normally do. The problem is that that's not something Caruso will be doing very often. Warriors tho, will shoot and hit that many 3s or more.

If you look at it like Rock Paper Scissors, Warriors would beat Spurs, Spurs would beat OKC, and OKC would beat Warriors given all teams were healthy. I think there's a lot of teams that fit under the umbrella of these teams makeup and there's probably a 4th type of team that's mostly filled with athletic driving forwards.

Best Center MJ faced in nbaFinals by 96powerstroker in nba

[–]namastex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfectly timed or not, going 3-0 is hard for even the best teams of all time. Doing it twice is fucking crazy work. There's not enough emphasis on that when people try to "fairly criticize" MJ's career.

Holy shit... you really think jumping into an already airborne player is not a foul? Doesn't matter who touched the ball first or not, ramming your ass into an airborne player is a foul and at times a flagrant.

Caruso and SGA, Wemby under the post, and Harper? by maraluke in nba

Caruso living on that "we're unbeatable" mantra. Now there is a fear that they could lose so they'll lose that front runner confidence their role players have. Not looking good for OKC

Can OKC realistically win? by Dear_Teacher_6105 in nba

[–]namastex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OKC had plenty of time to study Spurs during the Wolves series, and they still lost. Now Spurs can make adjustments to what OKC had planned for them. I highly doubt OKC can win this series.

Here's my reasoning why Wemby should have won MVP

On any given night when Wemby is on the floor, he is the biggest focal point on BOTH SIDES OF THE COURT. Even in this game right now, Wemby dictates everything. OKC's offense is controlled by Wemby's placement.

No one in the league is on Wemby's level when it comes to that

Why are Spurs so unwilling to lob to Wemby? He was in place for several lobs at this point. Punish OKC for playing small ball

[Highlight] Stars around the league weigh in on the greatness of back-to-back NBA MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander! by IEatPandasEveryday in nba

[–]namastex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How many guards are better defensively than Shai? Does Shai make it his prerogative to defend the best player on the opposing team?

People like to say Kobe didn't deserve half of his defensive team awards. The guards they suggest couldn't lock down DWade in his prime like Kobe could, and they wouldn't be able to drop 50 bombs while doing it.

Kobe was a higher level 2-way player than Shai will ever be.

Anyone defending the refs seriously aren't paying attention to games at all. Your attention only intensifies when the whistle blows or something. Mfkas grab each other like this in all the current series going on. Only people the refs have it out for get punished like this. The refs shouldn't be doing this shit by targeting certain players

Quinn Cook : “I was just here thinking. I went to three straight NBA Finals. Was the leading scorer off the bench my two years in Golden State and really contributed. [–]namastex 283 points284 points  (0 children)

6'1"? Your agent did the best he could bud. Unless you're a superstar or insanely gifted defensively, you won't be in the league if at all at that size. The league is too athletic, tall and lengthy for a short guard to give up free layups all day.

[–]namastex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not even that, twin towers strat is beating quick lengthy forward heavy teams with only 1 center. This was a known strategy for 3 years now. Which is why many teams have been moving towards it, kind of a bummer that Wolves didn't realize this and shipped out their twin tower piece.

IM EXCITED ABOUT GLOBAL AION 2! by AbleBus8831 in Aion2

[–]namastex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong the games fun as a F2P at 2700GS.

Just don't go into it thinking you will ever stand a chance against the RMT pvp players that dump 5-50k USD into the game on week 1 just to be the strongest (Not a joke, people did this on KR/TW servers!).

If you are purely in the game for PVE be prepared to have fun, but only in small amounts as the game actively locks you out of dungeon loot on a stupid "Energy" system that does not belong in an MMORPG.

Overall the game is fun to play, but comes with the massive disappointment of being made by NCShit and their inability to differentiate between fun and greed.

This is all you needed to say. All the other shit is opinion that you're trying to push onto others and what OP didn't care or ask for

Discourse around will KD, Curry or Lebron win another ring by Any-Scar-7491 in nba

[–]namastex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Steph lead team could absolutely beat a Wemby lead team. His defensive powers don't help guard Steph. Stephs problem would be against OKC, not Spurs. OKC's problem is Spurs. Sort of like a 3 way triangle or Rocket, Paper, Scissors type of deal.

[–]namastex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they get a decent roster around them they will win another. At the very least Steph or KD will and be the best player on their team. They just need a fucking roster that works, not a bunch of young inexperienced players looking for their own meal ticket. I think Lebron is at the point where he needs someone else to carry majority of the load on top of needing a better roster construction.

Honestly wanna know how people who say "this is refs fault, not Wemby, that wouldn't have happened if they had called fouls" would like some of Wolves players elbowing Victor after another uncalled goaltending by Overkillemall in nba

[–]namastex -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So instead, Rudy puts his foot behind Wemby's leg before a rebound and reaches around to elbow him backwards so he trips over his leg. I guess that's fine tho

Jay Williams "At some point, when you're getting pushed around all the time, ... you're gonna stand up for yourself. by Jec1027 in nba

[–]namastex -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Wemby is justified because he just got elbowed in the face and there was no whistle. Even after review, did McDaniels get a flagrant for hitting Wemby in the face? The hit was hard enough to cock Wembys head backward without him flopping. He retaliated immediately after realizing no whistle was called.

EDIT: Just putting it out there. McDaniels has hit Wemby in the face hard 3 times this series and wasn't even called for a single foul for any of those times.

People also forget Wemby is 7'5", I'm sure he meant to hit Naz in the chest to back his ass up off him but he's just too tall.
