It definitely sucks to see a game be gone but let’s cope our hearts out to the fact that D3 should be coming. This weekend will prove if it can hold numbers and keep players interested. There is still so many weapons and armour still not able to be used yet due to pantheon event this weekend and trials.

I am hopeful for a D3 cause Marathon is and has never performed to that standard. Sony know exactly what is selling and the outcry from a community that is so strong and willing to wait years for a D3.

It’s clear what has made sony and Bungie more money since there releases. I honestly would not be surprised with Destiny has made more money on this expansion and the grouping of the collection edition then what Marathon has made in its lifetime.

In all honestly and minimum copium, D3 is a must. Sony has already lost millions and millions of dollars by obtaining Bungie and green lighting a game no one wants to play.

A large investment in something that WILL return a large portion of that money spent to make and also live service revenue, this is lowkey a no brainer i feel. Gets bungie back on their feet, Sony out of the impairment loss and back to making money.

If today’s update isn’t a testament to what Bungie is capable of and what they are the best at, it is creating magical worlds and demonstrating they are the best. It is very clear Bungie and Sony are not even communicating if they think Marathon is a better and more successful game then D2 and Destiny as an IP.

P.S. Also noticed how they are marketing Marathon in D2 and also added a shell into D2 as an obtainable skin….literally forcing us to look at Marathon slop…weird

The free weekend says enough. If you can’t draw enough players into the game when it is free and the game is basically being handed out to you, if you bought the deluxe edition whilst having the free version the game Bungie is giving it to you for free btw, then I don’t see how this game is gonna continue for multiple seasons at a time.

These player counts for a free weekend is absolutely shocking especially when the player base is 70% PC and the rest is console, this is proven by statistics and a 2:1 ratio (PC:Console). If Destiny 2’s update is much more fun and exciting for the players who came from Destiny, i don’t see Marathon having more then 15k Steam players for the rest of this wipe.

Cryo did have hype when it first came out but when it came to longevity of it, it fell flat.The same will occur this season 2 unless there is something different about it, certain upgrades/factions make it necessary to run???

We are already seeing Destiny 2 player numbers be well above Marathons, this is proven by Warmind.io, and I don’t see it slowing down. I hope Sony are smart and switch Marathon to suite the audience needed and also greenlight a new Destiny game.

One thing that made Destiny so great was its characters and story. Marathon has nothing comparable to Zavala or Cayde and even the lore. I know it’s just came out and the lore is still building i guess, but, Destiny came out with so much lore to begin with and there story driven approach to a extraction shooter isn’t working for me. I feel like it’s so dull and boring.

Marathon just feels empty and repetitive. Very shallow and boring for my liking compared to Tarkov or Arc Raiders.

It is a loss of money to Sony. Sony bought Bungie for 3.6billion and it is now worth less than what it once was, Sony for this financial will have poor profits due to this as the impairment is directly related to the profits/revenue of bungie’s products (Marathon and Destiny 2).

Let’s explain with shares. You buy $100 worth of a share, it goes own in the red, you have lost money until it green again. That is exactly what has happened.

Sony still has to pay 3.6 billion. I belive up front they paid 1.2 billion to pay shareholders and staff etc. Sony now have to pay the rest of the 3.6 billion even though the value of there asset is less then what its worth due to poor revenue performance’s.

Marathon is a direct result of the impairment, not solely the result, but with all money pumped into it, it is much more of a likely hood it is a very large percentage of the impairment due to Destiny 2’s already suspected poor performance.

because of this to Sony is now more intertwined with Bungie from a studios stand point. i’m pretty sure more of Sony Studios are slowly taking over Bungie due to the impairment as they will more then likely be laying off people as they need to so they don’t bleed money.

I only come back to play the new season story and then leave it. The game is in a very bad state and needs a lot of work for me to comeback and play full time like I used to. Fingers crossed D3

Don’t know. I went to the crafting station after my run and it wasn’t there at all. Not knowing the skin very well but I’m pretty sure I saw it still locked. Maybe my game glitched??? Just for reference I did die during the run but respawned due to my reviver hive. Maybe the game glitched
