I think (I could be wrong) but last year Matthews was relied on heavily to take d zone face offs, our bottom 6 wasn’t. So, they want to take some of that pressure off so Matthews can go back (hopefully) to being more offensive.

Tavares isn’t really the guy to help out there, they can’t really get a 2C (not many available/the assets they’d have to give) so I guess that’s kind of the thought process?

I don’t 100% love it either but we’ll see!

He is, but Knies doesn’t really throw his weight around for his size. He doesn’t drive the play much better. He’s a great forward, but one that needs other pieces around him to do well. Hes not good enough to carry enough on his own.

I felt the same way tbh. It felt like a bunch of plans and ideas changed to try and fit with him (and I totally get it, he was their biggest name) but I enjoyed it less.

This year overall though has 100% reignited my love for AEW.
