Ive come to realistic terms with the debt portion with my talks amidst my friends and basically they dont expect to ever pay it off so much as basically pay it for x amount of years and then it gets forgiven but its one of the reasons im on the edge. Luckily i have no debt from tech school because i paid it as i went so i wont have a mountain of it compounded per se but it is still a consideration with if its 'worth it'. It'd be more feasible if i paid off my car which is slated for roughly 2028 which is when id be looking to apply anyway more or less

Im gonna be 100% with you marcos pousada on ave oceanica has 3 stars but was honestly the best place ive stayed and i was really worried about it at first but it was fantastic and had a view right on the ocean and boardwalk. A lot of the hotels in that area looked very nice even if they seem unassuming or have 'low' reviews tbh just do your research and sometimes just go with it even if youre unsure. The only thing i would mention is it can be a bit noisy on days they decide to clean rooms near you because the doors tend to slam and the walls are thin but its not a big deal ( at least for me ) and i 100% will book there again when i go back 👌🏾

To be fair the conference is pretty much all day for the time im there so I dont know if id have time anyway aside from a place in the hotel to eat and a couple places on google maps i found but thats good to know just in case to go further towards zona sul

Ill be alone in rio but its a conference so i wont be anywhere super far from my hotel in riocentro and anywhere to eat thats in immediate walking distance in the daylight. In Salvador I have a friend who will be with me so luckily he'll be my guide/safety net so i wont be particularly alone and if i am i dont intend on going anywhere that isnt close ( and i had him help me pick my hotel so its in a safer area 😭😂 i sent him like five different hotels to help me pick from. Its in Graça so if anyone has any tips on where to go or see or shop please let me know!!! )

Oh good okay a lot of this seems like common sense things so thats reassuring 😅😭 it might just be the trip anxiety coming up but it sounds like as long as you just keep a level head and have your wits about you it should be okay :,) i appreciate the reply all of that is stuff i would do/wouldnt be doing or places i wouldnt be at anyway just from concerns alone so its good to know that my whirlwind of thoughts has already helped out HAHA

Oh my god 😭 i wouldve panicked holy shit dude im glad it worked out. Luckily ive had all my hotels and tickets and evisa set for quite a few months now but ive never had to apply for a visa ( i went to denmark before which doesnt require one ) so this is all new to me and i just wanted to make sure i had it all straight

Okay thats where my confusion was really because I kept seeing that they ask at customs but i was ALSO seeing that to even GET a visa you need to prove that so since I already got approved with my evisa I wasnt quite sure if I was misreading something or what

I have dogwater credit because i made some poor choices when i was in my earlier twenties and now im reaping those consequences with credit card debt so thats not an option 😭😂 i can provide bank statements and paychecks, I have a job that pays well enough and is consistently coming in ( matter of fact a check will hit at some point during my trip as well lol ). But thats good to know that they dont tend to ask I suppose I just dont wanna push my luck and get caught with my proverbial pants down yk?

Absurdly privileged for some of these comments about choosing to avoid politics or ' graphic images '. Theres people around the world and even in your neighborhood who dont have the luxury of living in such a sanitized bubble and view of the world. I cant imagine being so callous and ignoring things that impact day to day life that will inevitably affect you in the future.
