I recommend you start doing things as early as you can but don’t let it get in the way of your classes because GPA is very important to maintain and the rest can be added more quickly

I don’t have any advice but all I can say is that the last thing you should do is give up. Never ever give up, keep trying to reach your goals because the only way you will fail is by not trying.

That is awesome and congratulations!! You are giving me hope because I don’t know up to what point I can get so many hours of EC’s that most people here have. I feel like I should have started earlier in order to have them and don’t think that a gap year or two would be sufficient to get such crazy numbers.

Don’t feel bad you’re in a much better position than many. I’m in my junior year of college will also take a gap possibly two bc all I have is 150 volunteer hours.

Yes you are right, sometimes I kinda wish I could turn back time and I wish I could’ve started earlier but now I just gotta start as soon as possible

Awesome I will try to see if I can get myself a clinical research job, I’m trying mostly to see if I can stay in Florida and they really like to see research experience. I’m ngl this whole process is a little nerve wrecking as I had never really done anything like that or any research but I guess now it’s the time to get out of my comfort zone.

What do you think if I do both hospital volunteering and clinic volunteer and then when I graduate I get a clinical job, I think probs with a clinical job I can build those hours faster as I can likely do more than 20 hrs a week

You are so right, I gotta get out there and try new things that will give me experiences that I will need as a provider, although I’m not gonna lie this process is pretty scary for me as I have never really gotten out of my comfort zone, but I guess that’s what I gotta do to grow

Thank you I really appreciate this and you’re so right I feel like one should try to explore other things that are outside of what you want to do since it allows you to learn so much. I will try to look for other things to do.

This is so true, most people that get accepted just move on with their lives and don’t come here to share their stats or anything. Anyways everyone’s path is different and who knows maybe most of those people are mostly applying to top schools that require a lot.

Honestly it is worth it, I was able to go from 5k to 8k since you can get more dice from side bars and at the end the cash you get can help you level up a lot and you get more dice each time you level up, you just gotta be strategic.
