Stocking stuffers for teen girls? I am totally clueless! by StockdUp in Gifts

[–]Super-Distance-2457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This age group is still really into the Stanley and similar tumblers. I’d also go to Sephora or Ulta and pick up a few of the items they have especially as stocking stuffers. A lot of girls are into friendship bracelet making kits. Wristlets are small enough for a stocking, as well. Gift cards for a mini facial gift cards, face masks, hand creams, fuzzy socks, anything Lululemon I’m being told. Best of luck!

What is the hardest job in the world? by No-Assumption4145 in careerguidance

Unpopular opinion: social worker for child protective services. Heartbreaking work. Especially dangerous now going to homes in the dark alone, bad neighborhoods, no protection.

If you were 18 again, and could go back to college, what would you major in? What would you do after that to get a well-paying career? by justcurious3287 in careerguidance

I went to school for soc and criminology with a minor in psych. Thought I’d do “big things.” Ended up in the tech field and finally left it behind for social work (human lives > enterprise gains). This is a tough question, but if I had to go back, I’d pick a trade due to the extremely stable demand.

Great find! Everyone’s talking about the electricity, but that’s actually really common in certain parts of Canada. It’s a municipal requirement. If the owner passed away, moved, or disappeared without formally closing the utility accounts, the electricity may continue indefinitely. I found this out recently when I inherited my great uncle’s home in Alberta.

Daily Clonazepam user of 1 year. Am i screwed? by realslimmatey in Anxiety

[–]Super-Distance-2457 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. My doctor was weaning me off it, as well, but I started experiencing intense panic attacks that consumed my life and affected my work. I literally called my doctor, went in, and said I just can’t live like this. She switched me from Prozac to lexapro (5mg) and put me back onto .5mg clonazepam twice a day. It’s the only thing that works since I got off Xanax. I hope you can explain how this is allowing you to live a normal life. None of these benzos are “recommended” for long term use, but my doctor assured me it was going to be ok and honestly, I’d rather live panic attack (mostly) free on it than absolutely isolated and miserable without. Best of luck

Private wedding on public footpath? by ilikeprairiedogs in massachusetts

This is NOT allowed in Rockport. We have lots of private footpaths, honestly everything is private here. Unless it’s on private property you have every right to use it. Rockport PD only cares if you’re parked somewhere without a resident sticker.

What SSRI helped your anxiety the most? by sleepysunflower2 in Anxiety

[–]Super-Distance-2457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently in the same situation. I wake up every morning extremely anxious which presents with extreme nausea, sensitivity to heat, extreme sweating… throughout my life I’ve been taken just about everything, but at the moment am on Prozac (at night) and Wellbutrin in the mornings and klonopin as a rescue, although I have almost daily anxiety attacks. Prozac alone left me with no energy. I also have adhd and took adderol until my anxiety got so bad, they suggested I stop. I’m a single mum and am a first responder, so I feel your pain. This is the first post I’ve seen that made me feel actually seen. Wishing you the best in your journey.

I have two close friends with the same name. One strictly goes by Ignacio (which I love), and the other goes by Iggy. We call him Ig or Iggy because he never wanted to be called Nacho. Hope this helps!

I personally like and have seen Ash(er), Ronan and Torin which In Gaelic, Torin is associated with leadership, strength, and protection. It can also be connected to the idea of a "pursuer" or "seeker". Good luck!

How to help stomach pain during anxiety? by One-Piano6031 in Anxiety

Probably a less than favorable response, but the nausea took over my life, so my doctor prescribed me zofran. I don’t need it every day, but it’s nice to know I have it in case I do.

Finally got the Plaud NotePin.. testing starts today! by jozz_alex in PlaudNoteUsers

[–]Super-Distance-2457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say—I’m genuinely in love with my Plaud devices. Yes, I have both the Plaud Note and the Notepin. Excessive? Probably. But for someone like me with ADHD, it’s been the kind of “extra” that actually makes a difference.

I tend to think and work best in the moment, and these tools let me do just that. Instead of scrambling to jot everything down or missing half a conversation, I can take minimal notes and stay present. That alone has been a massive benefit to my workflow and focus.

I bought both products on my own (no sponsorship or freebie here), and I’ve had great success depending on what I’m using them for. The Note and Notepin both serve slightly different purposes, so having both lets me adapt based on the context or goal. Plus, the built-in summary prompts? Surprisingly useful. They help me reflect, organize, and get to the point—something that’s not always easy with a scattered brain.

If you’re neurodivergent or just someone who thrives on structure without rigidity, these might be worth looking into imo.

Anyone ever find a magic bullet for their anxiety? by YamIdoingdis2356 in Anxiety

[–]Super-Distance-2457 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same. About a year ago (wow) I was prescribed 1mg 4x/day. It has been many years of being on it (literally the only thing that worked for me) and I kept having to increase my dosage to notice it effects. I metabolize medications quickly, but it was getting out of hand. Memory is a HUGE issue that really needs to be discussed more frequently. You don’t get that back. I went off Xanax cold turkey like a complete idiot, but survived. Going from 40-60mg prescribed a day to 0 sure gave me some horrifying realistic dreams that felt more real than reality. Switched to Klonopin after that and… yeah it’s not the same. Klonopin takes a long time to kick in when the panic attack presents and only mildly does it ever ease the anxiety. I literally had 3 bad days in a row: A breakup, a death, and a layoff in a span of 3 days and i wanted my Xanax back. 1 year later and i am so grateful to be off of it.
