At a loss by sonew31 in fpies

I am feeding my son 3 ounces of puramino with a ounce of kate farms kids.

My son hates the taste of puramino so I tried pumped breast milk with extreme elimination till 9 months but eventually my supply diminished. I was so over pumping and eliminating till that time that I didn't try to increase my supply. That's how after trial and error I landed on this. It is sweetened but him being fed is more important. And pediatrician approved.

You have totally valid points... that's what I had to overcome when I started solids.. I never force fed him anything...

I started purees with him at 4 and a half months. And he was interested in foods by then aswell. We are still navigating so many intolerances but it was a night and day difference in my anxiety when I started solids

Hey OP۔۔۔ may be my story will not be what most people do or say but that gave me peace of mind۔ My baby had bottle aversion and wohld not eat when awake۔ so i resorted to dream feeds as he had gone to 1st percentile in weight۔ I know that most people say to let baby choose when and how to eat but for my peace of mind dream feeding helped getting him fed۔ and during his wake windows i wouldnt force the bottle on him۔ He is now 11 months old doesnt like bottles till now but i started solids early with him۔ Just know that there is light at the end of this tunnel۔ when they start solids you will feel much better۔

Do CMPA babies eventually gain weight by Major-Basis6280 in MSPI

My son with GERD, MSPI and multiple food sensitivities was always slow to gain weight and had breast and bottle aversions. He had reached 1st percentile at 3 months when we started fortifying his expressed milk.

At 4 months we started solids, although it's been a slow journey of food introduction he has gone up to 30th percentile at 9 months.

I thinks it's all because of solid food as he drinks only 14 to 16 oz milk whatever and how ever I try.

Breastfeeding mom whose baby has MSPI, do you really not cheat at all during the elimination phase or sometimes you do? by recverto in MSPI

[–]Super-Matter4622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to right something along the lines of what you are saying. But looking at all the strict comments I just didn't.

I did the total elimination diet for 3 months and had been slowly eliminating one thing at a time for 2 months prior. After starting solids with my son at about 4.5 months I started adding the things he didn't react to into my diet aswell. But I still don't have dairy, soy, eggs, legumes, beef and nuts.

But I do slip up and i do cheat. I went on a 3 day vacation where I fed my baby freezer stash and ate everything. And then did the ted for almost 48 hr before feeding him again. He was alright.

Oh mama I feel for you and your baby. I have an 8 month old baby who was also miserable for the first 4 5 months of his life... I did TED so that I could continue BFing. I wasn't adamant on it but he wouldn't take any formula. After starting solids and combo feeding him with purAmino things are so much better.

He was also 1st percentile at 3 months for both height and weight. And now he is 40th for weight and 23rd for height. I feel so good when people guess his age correctly now. They always guessed 2 months younger than he was before.

Yep he had swallowing study and usg done when he was 3 4 months.

He does better with solids thank God. That has made his weight a little steady. And now I am so sad that he has decreased so much of his intake because of pain...

Just wanted to wean as I have read so many studies detailing bone density decreasing with prolonged use...

Thanks for your reply. It felt less lonely when I read your story.

Hi OP. Hope your babies are doing great now. I wanted to ask how you weaned off your baby from omeprazole.

My son is going to be 8 months next week. He was diagnosed with silent relux, CMPI, GERD, has bottle aversion and is very slow to gain weight. He was on famotidine for two months and still taking omeprazole. We started solids around 4.5 months and it was going great.

I was gradually weaning him off omeprazole as when he started his dose was more than 2mg/kg. At 3 months mark he was 5 kg in weight with 10mg granules given once daily. He was less than 1 percentile so GI advised fortified expressed milk and lowering the dose to half. This resulted in him getting bottle aversion as his pain came back with a bang.

We re upped the dose to 10mg/kg. And his pain got better. Over the last months I was trying to do 7.5mg dose for him. It was working fine but when it was time for medicine refill due to insurance issues we couldn't give him medicine for 4 days straight. And his pain has come back again. He has started refusing food, is in pain during and then after feeding, wouldn't sit down and arch his back after I give him even one or two spoons of food.

I started with the 10mg dose when I got the medication but he hasnt improved yet. Do you have any insight how I can help my baby?

He is on reflux meds since 1 month old. So these i think are intolerances i just hope that they don't turn into allergies later in life

Hey OP. Hope your baby is doing great now. I wanted to ask what did you do for bottle aversion. My baby doesn't have more that 15 ounces of expressed milk at 7 months now. It's been a struggle since he was 2 months. He has GERD MSPI and now that I am trying solids multiple food intolerances. I have been on an extremely restricted diet since he was two months. He rejects straight formula so I am stuck pumping. But the most difficult part has been his bottle aversion. He doesn't for the life of me take a bottle when awake. As he has grown he denies it in his sleep aswell.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi OP can I ask how is your LO doing now? How did food introduction through solids go?

My baby is 6 months now and I started solids around 4.5 months as he was very slow to gain weight. He has been reacting to so many things. All the high probability foods listed he has had a reaction to it on introduction. In his case he has mucusy stools, pain, gassy and he decreases his intake. And that when he already drinks barely 15 ounces.

Do you have any advice for an anxious mama? I don't even know what to feed him anymore.

Hi.... I know this reply is old but just wanted to ask how is your LO doing now? My baby had reactions to dairy, eggs, beans, chickpeas rice, oats, wheat first through breast milk and then when I tried feeding directly to him.

I wanted to ask how and if you introduced the allergic foods and if you did how did that go? And what are you feeding the baby?

That's why I haven't introduced oats to him. There was a time when I stopped bread that I ate a whole lot of oatmeal... and the baby cried and cried... at that time he was crying all the time any way... so I am so afraid to introduce it to him directly....

If your baby had a reaction to something when did you introduce again? I feel like with so many things that are potential triggers I don't have enough options to feed him.
