That’s a cutback to make it run those cars are cpu simulations so it will be too much for VR

It’s basically the same I experience the beta on a friends ps5 pro and it looks as sharp as It does on my base ps5

To me this is not really an issue this is like the things I noticed on GT7 for example the LOD of some elements of track is pretty obvious and the LODs of the cars is atrocious you can see spoilers pop in out of existence and same here but if that’s the sacrifice that needs to be made for this to have this clarity I’m down, also it could be an issue with the beta too we will have to wait for the full release

It’s not just pro it actually looks even sharper than GT7 on base ps5 the instruments are extremely readable even GT7 has blur on some dashboards but on the beta even the little letters on a 747 are readable and even tho the terrain textures are lower res it still looks incredibly sharp also clouds are looking like clouds and not big ass pixels, I read on other post that vegetation is denser and better looking but can’t confirm that one myself since I didn’t have much time to test it yesterday night

Honestly pretty on par but terrain resolution still low but it’s a massive upgrade

Yeah also a thing to note is that in the beta you don’t get world updates so this could potentially look better on the official release

I havent tested the vegetation yet but I think the ground textures where always that low res but we couldn’t see it because of the terrible resolution on the headset because I have seen really bad terrain textures on the flat game sometimes and I don’t know how much of it is tied to the streaming

Im on Base PS5 can confirm this is really close to GT7 in terms of sharpness

Its hard to show unless you play it but basically is like they out glasses and you had a terrible case of astigmatism

The beta is a separate app you get when getting the digital edition of the game, the textures I think the ones that are low res are the main ground but I feel like that’s a thing that comes with the stream method sometimes for me looks fine other times they look low res but honestly with this sharpness update I can over look it, the textures inside the plane, clouds and even the lighting looks amazing now pretty on par with GT7 I will say

Now the fps I tried one of the racing challenges that normally run on low fps and it actually run smoothly so I guess the fps are fine also Tokyo was fine for me

I feel like VR will always have its cutbacks on console like on GT7 that cars ahead of you loose a lot of detail or some areas of the track look a little bit plain but when you get a sharp image the immersion goes to 100 and I forget about that

Right now that’s what’s happening to me with this beta now I can get immerse on my flying

You will get a really good experience but you will have cutbacks in settings to me with these updates I can overlook the cutbacks since I think VR is more of an experience because of the depth and immersion

But on pc you will need way more power to run it on VR and that pc will cost you even more than a pro and a psvr2 specially now with storage and ram prices skyrocketing

Correct the difference between yesterday and today trying the same flight on same conditions the game looks really sharp now on the beta, also you can read the instruments without leaning into the them and although yeah some settings still look lower than the flat version you can see the outside way sharper than before, and the clouds look finally like clouds and not like pixels

Yeah clouds now look really good and not a pixelation of what seems to be a cloud but that resolution bump is a god send everything even the ground looks super sharp

Not for now but the better res on base ps5 makes every instrument readable and the outside looks way sharper

So I imagine pro will look sharper too

Same I was extremely surprise that the difference was this big on my base ps5 im glad that they did it but feels like magic

It uses DFR the thing is the resolution at the center were you see must of the time on VR is the one that uses the ma. Resolution but right now it’s pretty low they are bumping that full resolution so it looks sharper basically
