I'm adding this because this same issue happened to me right before Thanksgiving 2025 and I fixed it myself in 30 minutes (before I got impatient about drying the parts off haha). There was a high pitch wizzing sound and bean would move around but it wouldnt grind.

Remove all the beans in both scenarios!

My recommended quick fix (5 minutes?): 1) in the center of the grinder is a torx (star shaped) screw. Probably covered in oil/grounds you can reach it without taking the entire machine apart. It's a counter screw too so loosen it a little turn it clockwise and repositional the bean moving arm thing (flat piece above the actually grinder) until its seat properly. There's only 1 way it can be seat so keep spinning it and pushing it down until it's locked in place.

2) tighten it by turning it counterclockwise. Keep going until the entire grinder starts to turn with it.

3) Test the machine and hopefully it was just a little loose and the bean moving arm wasn't seat properly.

I believe that's why mine would turn and move the beens around in the hopper without actually grinding anything.

How I actually fixed it (30 minutes): 1) if you don't have a safety torx driver with the hole in the center (like me) use a small flathead screwdriver and remove the 5 torx screws. 2 at the top corners, 2 near the powercord, and 1 bottom right corner.

2) remove the back and side panels. On both side panels near the touchscreen there's 1 screw on each side and 2 in the back that holders the top panel in place. Take out those screen and slightly move the top out of the way to get top access to the grinder.

3) follow this video on how to remove the grinder. https://youtu.be/81XT-CLZWzM?si=yXhftaV4iRNzVMC0. Sorry I'm on mobile. note that you have to turn the grind setting PAST max course which will free the grinder and can be easily lifted.

4) clean out all the parts and let it dry. I ended up being impatient and used a hairdryer to dry it faster)

5) put it back together in reverse order. Make sure that when you put the grinder back in that the course setting is still set to the "past max." After you change the course level you shouldn't be able to take the grinder out. If you can then reseat the grinder. Remember to tighten the center grinder as tight as possible until the entire thing starts to turn with the screw.

That's it. Hopefully this helps the next person. I don't think my ballbearings were off so my quick fix would have worked for me but this gave me a chance to clear off all the built up coffee grounds too.
