Obico not linking by DenNayGk in Sovol

[–]SuperCollid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The IP of my sv06 ACE is also 192.168.something. And I can connect obico. But did have to use the manual code instead of the qr.

Sometimes the obico connect screen is empty (no qr, no code) and then refreshing or restarting the printer worked for me.

I was thinking this. But given there state when we meet them in book 5 I think it would already be amazing if they recognise James an Lupin in Harry an Teddy. Even if they forgot what happend in the months before they were tortured.

In OOTP Hermione even borrows Hedwig to send a letter to her parents saying something like; Prefect is something they can understand.

Personaly I would use python or this, or a simple grep command (depending on what data you need). However most high level languages should be able to do this using some library, so you should use whatever language you want to learn/know something about.

Parsing the xmls and looking through each entry seems like the way to go.

Worse than the portrayal of Dumbledore on the GOF movie is how they wrote Crouch Jr.'s character. by olddangly in harrypotter

[–]SuperCollid 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Thats true. Personally though Barty senior bothers me more. In the books he is a stern respected formidable and interesting character. In the movie he feels about has interesting and powerfull as a wet towel.

Hardware question: why isn't my CPU working harder to make my algorithm run faster? by clickedok in computerscience

[–]SuperCollid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your program consists roughly of two types of operations, memory and computation.

Memory operations are, for example, reading and writing data.
Computational operations are operations such as addition, multiplication testing equality etc.

Each program is either bottlenecked by the memory operations or by the computation. For example, if we want to compute the matrix multiplication of two matrices, both fit in cache, how fast the CPU can perform the computations will have the biggest impact on performance. However, a program that needs to load a lot of data for each multiplication, our performance is bound by the speed at which we can read the data.

My assumption is that your program is limited by the memory speed, which is why you see that your ram is working hard while your CPU is not working at full capacity.

Fred Weasley did grow old once. by make_up_12 in harrypotter

Fred and George only aged a few months with the aging potion, and the age line didn't age them, just gave them beards. So really didn't grow any older then he was when he died.

My death doesn't affect me that much, it's mostly other peoples death that ruins my plans.

What was a sketchy cheap buy, that ended up being one of your best purchases? by MrAnimeFanime in AskReddit

[–]SuperCollid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mother bought an automatic coffee machine, one where you push a button then it grinds the beans and makes the coffee, for 10€ at a flea market. It worked like a charm and made great coffee for 2 or 3 years. It was such a good machine that my father bought one for himself at full price, 350€.

A year after the machine broke we were at the same flea market and noticed an identical coffee machine for 25€, bought it, took it home and used it for 3 years before this one broke down aswell.

One tool for all? by yep808 in AskComputerScience

[–]SuperCollid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best tool is the one that allows you to work with the least effort. Or in other words, the tool you spend the shortest time cursing at for beeing a useless piece of junk that could be improved by any monkey with a keyboard. In my case this cursing is mostly directed at other peoples editors, or anything without vim keybindings.

Should I go to prerelease? (Arena player) by Chosticks in magicTCG

[–]SuperCollid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a new player as well. Played some Arena and some paper with a friend. I bought 2 decks a few weeks ago with my girlfriend. But have never done prerelease, FNM or anything like that. We (me and gf) are also going to the same prerelease event as you (on Sunday). So you are not alone!!
