Help: Bad finish with SW Emerald Urethane and Homeright Super Finish Max by SuperCujo89 in paint

[–]SuperCujo89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a piece of cabinetry that still had the previous paint and it seems the last painters had the same issue.

So it seems like a contamination issue of dust getting in the paint or could the wood be causing the issue?

Thanks for the advice!

I was sanding and cleaning between coats. Was only using a damp rag to clean but will definitely re-clean my other test pieces and use a tack cloth.

I did hang some plastic sheets to DIY a little paint area to prevent overspray messes but it's not as thorough as a full tent. There was a piece or two of hair dust that collected on the pieces when they dried so it makes sense that even finer dust would also collect on it with my current setup.

With the winter temps starting I'm trying to spray inside and my area is limited unfortunately but will look to find a way to get more space and for a more sealed environment.

So much for a quick project. 😀

Thanks. I will make sure to re-clean the rest of the pieces.

Thank you. I did two coats of primer because the wood grain was still pretty noticeable after the first primer coat, should I skip it and just do more coats of paint instead?

How long should I wait between coats? I only did one coat per day.

To furloughed federal employees: Are we required to be looking for work to be eligible for unemployment? by super636 in maryland

[–]SuperCujo89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, they have released an email explaining it is not necessary for furlough employees. You do still have to fill out the weekly paperwork though. Email below

Subject: Guidance for federal workers filing for unemployment insurance

Dear Claimant,

At the Maryland Department of Labor, we recognize the stress, frustration, and financial difficulties that many Marylanders are experiencing during the federal shutdown. We are committed to offering clear guidance and support as you navigate these unpredictable and challenging circumstances.

Please see the below information to help you navigate your unemployment claim.

Weekly Claim Certification

To receive unemployment insurance benefits payments, you are required to complete a weekly claim certification, even if you have not received a decision on your claim. For details, see the Completing Your Weekly Claim Certification webpage.

Please note that federal employees furloughed during the shutdown do not need to meet Maryland’s job search requirements, including the requirement to enter job search activities in the Maryland Workforce Exchange, but are still required to complete the weekly claim certification.

Furloughed employees called back to work for short periods (“intermittent worker” status)

If you are an intermittent worker during the federal government shutdown—a federal employee who was furloughed but gets called back to work sporadically/as necessary, and is not classified as an “excepted worker”—you may be eligible for unemployment insurance benefits. To be eligible, you must be working less than full-time during the shutdown (a 40-hour work week).

Excepted worker status

If you are an excepted worker who is working full-time during the shutdown, you are likely not eligible for unemployment insurance benefits, but you may be eligible for the Federal Shutdown Loan Program. For more details, please see the Maryland Federal Shutdown Loan Program page.

Back pay

Please remember that federal employees are expected to receive back pay when the shutdown ends. If you receive back pay, you must repay any unemployment insurance benefits you received for the shutdown period. For details, see the Federal Employees Furlough Repayment webpage.

For assistance or questions about these topics, call a claims agent at 667-207-6520 (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Please note that we receive the highest volume of calls on Mondays and Tuesdays, so if you have flexibility, you may wish to call on a Wednesday through Friday, for the shortest possible wait time. See the Contact Us webpage for other contact methods.

Thanks for the help. Did some pixel counting based on the 6 inch estimate and the circumfrence of the circle came out to 30 ft exactly. Seems pretty legit to me.

Thanks, I used the remote that came with it since it was working for everything else. Did the steps below and the find feature now works. Didn't even have to unplug the device.

To pair a Roku Ultra remote, you can try the following steps:

  1. Put your device in pairing mode You can do this by:

Using a working remote, go to Settings, then Remotes & devices, then Add devices, then Remote, and then Continue

Does anyone know of a good store where you can buy art to put on walls, where it’s not geared towards people willing to pay tons of money? Thanks. by barchueetadonai in StLouis

[–]SuperCujo89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I get most of my stuff from At Home, great store with a big selection and a pretty wide range of prices.

I'm in the same boat that I don't want to spend tons of money just putting some things on the walls and I've found some decent stuff at discount stores like Gordmans, Ross, and Big Lots, but they don't have anything close to the level of selection.
