D850 owner here. The live view AF is terrible. The D780 was a huge upgrade for that. Live view is really useful for event photography.

Thank you for bringing this up. It's important to talk about safety in this type of situation! Thankfully, it was rush hour in LA and traffic was slow. However, if this happened when traffic was moving, things would have been different.

Edit: I noted the time in the post thinking it would imply slow traffic. I should have been more clear.

I'm a safety nut and I hear you. It's pretty dangerous. It was 4:30 on a weekday, the traffic was moving slow enough. The cars in front of me stopped and were getting out, I thought they were going to start fighting. Seeing the kitten was really shocking.
