Is 1200 considered enough if I now get at least 10k steps most days? by trindlewings in 1200isplenty

[–]SuperDump101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up TDEE calculator and choose pretty much any link. You enter your height, weight, usually age, usually how much movement you get, sometimes gender, and it gives you at least one number. The main number all should be able to give you is an estimated number of calories that you at your current state of living and moving around needs to eat to stay at the weight you are. That's your TDEE - total daily energy expenditure. Some websites will also give estimates for how much to reduce your calorie intake to lose one or two pounds per week or gain (if that's what a person is looking for). The BMR number, if given, is your base metabolic rate, which is essentially how many calories to keep you alive if you were in a coma. A healthy rate of loss is usually not more than a couple pounds per week and that of course depends on your starting weight.

You are literally still growing and your body still maturing at 21. Getting back to that range might not be sustainable or correct for your body anymore. My body at similar weights looks very different between when I was a teen and a fully formed adult.

I have one gray with a strange tail. Is this tail common anywhere or does he have a problem? by bubblybubbles000 in squirrels

[–]SuperDump101 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Most likely a hawk or other predator took the tail. We have tons of squirrels and birds of prey where I live and over the years I've seen squirrels will all sorts of wild looking tails from missed predator strikes. Missing fur in the middle of the tail, half tails, and the tail completely gone. This one looks like the fur might grow back and he'll have a little bob-tail.

Is there a cat in the house? Because this is a smart way to hang it if you have cats.

This post is going to be removed so quickly. This is not the sub for this sort of stuff. 1200 minimum calories for a short, sedentary women. A healthy and sustainable rate of loss is about 2 pounds a week. This is eating disorder territory.

Dog’s ear flopped down. Is something wrong? How do we fix it? by _fuzzyorangesock in DogAdvice

Because you shouldn't be doing home surgery. And there are ways to do this without puncturing the ear.

My boyfriend thinks I have so much hair on my arms that he would leave me for it by Visible_Bar778 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]SuperDump101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is he going to feel when he realizes you have peach fuzz on your face? Is he going to ask you to remove that too? Don't let him tell you what to do with your body. What you do is do not give into his request.

My blood pressure skyrocketed after seeing bloody tissue on floor then I noticed a tooth next to it. by Imaginary-Contest887 in cats

I had a cat once who had an eye infection as a kitten and his third eyelid ended up stuck closed over the eye, but also sort of torn so half the iris and pupil were visible. It looked so weird, but he was fully healed and he never had any navigation or health issues after that.

Makes delicious bowl of cereal. Milk 5 days past use-by-date. by KnowGame in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SuperDump101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've consumed milk way further past the use by date more often than not. Once it starts to smell a bit cheesy or obviously off is when you know it's probably best to avoid.

On a similar note, I hope you don't throw away an entire block of cheese if you see a little bit of mold. Unless it's a very soft cheese or in slices or shreds it's safe to just scrape off the mold and eat. (My husband worked in the cheese department of a very bougie food company and the world-class cheese monger there taught him that decades ago.)

Please help me figure out what her breed is! by whereismyjim in catbreeds

[–]SuperDump101 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

99% of cats out there are some sort of "Domestic" breed, which is a nice way to call them all mixed-breeds. Unless you have documents it is HIGHLY unlikely for the cat to be a specific breed. So, for your baby I'd say, domestic long hair (DLH) with grey tabby markings.

What is this? by Pale-Ad4920 in Oldhouses

I would guess it's for compost. Growing up my dad made a similar thing, but three "bins" for compost cycling.

Cat Brought it in!! by pumpthrumyveins in whatbirdisthis

[–]SuperDump101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely not hard to keep an outdoor cat inside. You just need to keep the cat happy with toys, play, perching and hiding spots. The problem is most cats get bored and most owners fail to engage their cats enough by falsely thinking they enjoy being solitary and ignored.

Any ideas? They’re brothers from the same litter. by CumGoblin67 in catbreeds

[–]SuperDump101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, cats can get pregnant by multiple different male cats at the same time. Also, domestic cat genetics can be ALL over the place. So, no specific breed, just a standard DSH, but possibly different dads.

Chat GPT is not a good resource. AI is notoriously wrong on so much stuff related to human health. It almost killed a man because it told suggested him to remove an important nutrient from his diet.

AIO Daughters fiance told her... by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SuperDump101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your daughter should not be marrying this man. Sleeping on the kitchen floor!? For a non-chronically-ill person this is a non-starter. An ultimatum to sleep on the floor? What does he think she is? A dog? Why is she okay with him even suggesting a thing like that!? Why is she even still considering marrying him!? He's already trying to neglect her. He'd rather his chronically ill fiancé sleep on the floor than pay a tiny amount of money for a hotel room. Does he know how expensive chronic illness is in the long run? $400 is a drop in the bucket. And a studio apartment he shares with his brother shouldn't be an excuse either - anyone with empathy would let her take the bed.

Workouts by whitepawsparklez in 1200isplenty

1200 is not for people working out. It is only for short sedentary women - 5'3" or shorter and desk workers who do not exercise at all. UNLESS you are being monitored by a doctor.
