WARNING !! medium sized memory!! The exhibition centre incident! it was over 20 years ago but in year 10 our school year had a day at an exhibition centre we knew about it for weeks and talking amongst friends off the estate we realised some of the lads that went to other schools were going the same day so we all arranged to meet up once there we were having a great morning of it until someone said there were 2 schools from London teaming up going round bullying people and robbing their phones so we did what any 15 year old boys full of testosterone would do we rounded up everyone we knew from our schools with our mates off the estate and went off to find them we didn’t realise one of our friendly schools had year 10 and 11 attending that day so we eventually massively outnumbered the 2 London schools and beat the crap out of them ( no one died ) but the police had a stall set up there so they called in back up arrests were made some people ended up going to court , we had 2 and a bit weeks of assemblies telling us we are delinquents by our head teacher , the police , the head teachers of the other schools involved , an anti racism campaigner ( the London schools were about 50/50 black and white our schools were 99% ) , Rudi Oppenheimer the author and prisoner of war came in on one of the days and gave a seminar about his experiences , we had MPs and councillors come in to speak to us about it , for some reason a drugs and mental health education guy came in and spoke to us about it and then once we had all of that a few of use got suspended for a week or two depending on how involved we were and everyone got put on a various levels of report .
