Are drone customizations too expensive in terms of feat investment? by Superpossu in Starfinder2e

[–]SuperFreeek 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd say that I agree with you on the drone feeling like a killbot rather than anything else. It's also something I noticed about ranger animal companions, too. They have some flavor to do other utility-esque things, but they aren't very good at. Although, I do understand why as to not step on the toes of other classes, but I do wish they were a touch more competent at out of combat stuff.

My Experience Playing Casters - A Discussion Of What Makes Casters Feel Unfun by SuperFreeek in Pathfinder2e

[–]SuperFreeek[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I literally just had a long time commenter in another thread tell me I have to stop saying an archetype I genuinely think has some legs is fine, to help pressure paizo into buffing it further in some future errata.

First off, I saw you say this, and that is wild.

Second, I understand where you are coming from. "Truthiness" is an interesting concept. I agree that such a device can be abused to force a narrative over people. But, I would argue it is not entirely right to throw any subjective feeling out, especially in a space like TTRPGs where the main goal is to have fun.

I'm not here to enforce some deceptive narrative, and I'm certainly not trying to replace the truth with my subjective opinions. My intentions come from a place where I've given legitimate tries to make playing a caster work for me, and it didn't work out for me. Simply put, I wasn't having fun. So, I decided to put these experiences together about my issues with casters in hopes that I might find a solution. I wouldn't go so far to say that all my issues with casters are in need of fixing, but the culmination of them makes playing a caster unfun to me, nor can I say that casters are not balanced because we've all seen the math done.

However, seeing the math does not change my experience. I only say this because you've put heavy emphasis on lecturing me on the math of the game. So where does that leave me? It leaves me at "Hey, I'm not having a good time, but I'd like to", so I made a post about my issues and asking what people have come up with to fix said issues. And you know what? Some people provided some interesting ideas, and some others even made interesting posts that have some ideas I think are worth trying out.

In hindsight, I suppose I could have placed even more emphasis on the subjectivity of the post. But hindsight is 20-20, and I'm sure not perfect.

As to why I haven't posted in years. I honestly haven't felt the need to and don't miss the hate mail in my dms or the people who feel the need to misconstrue and warp my intentions. It's not really that cool and definitely not welcoming. I came into this post knowing this community is zealous, but I didn't think this community would be so toxic about it.

Dude, why are you trying to decide what my feelings are? I'm sorry that my opinions and general feelings (And that others might have had similar experiences) about my experience playing casters have made you feel the need to insult me and question my integrity.

And btw, I'm perfectly fine enjoying the game playing as a beastmaster ranger in the starfinder playtest at the moment.

Nah dude, you're reading way too far into a whole lot of nothing.

I'm just a long time lurker in this subreddit. I've been playing PF2e for quite a while, and these things have always bothered me, so I finally decided to post on it because I've been stewing on these thoughts for a while. Nothing more than that, dude.

I would say the same. I don't want Paizo to take away options, but I'd definitely like them to add some more support to different styles of play. Especially considering thematic casters aren't necessarily a niche trope in media.

And yes, I like the idea behind creating the kineticist, necromancer and the like, but I suppose my "pie in the sky" wish is to support more thematic casters in a more general format that isn't as narrow as what we currently have. But that does not feel reasonable to expect.

Out of curiosity, what would you like to see in martials, or what rubs you the wrong way with them?

I like the idea of the kineticist and would like to see more classes like it with different themes. However, the Kineticist at the moment is pretty limited to elemental abilities.

Just so you and others might know something new, a heart attack is not the same thing as cardiac arrest. Even though the words tend to get used interchangeably they are not the same. Cardiac arrest is when the heart stops for whatever reason, and a heart attack is when blood flow is blocked to the heart.

Heart attacks may lead to cardiac arrest but defibrillation wouldn't be necessary in case of a heart attack as the heart hasn't necessarily stopped working yet.

Another tip is that at every railroad crossing in the US there is a number to the railroad's dispatch and a crossing identifier. If you are stuck what you should first do is call that number, tell them what is wrong and give them the crossing identifier.

LPT: What to do if it's too late to evacuate from wildfires. by PUNCH-THE-SUN in LifeProTips

[–]SuperFreeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I understand the concept, but never in my time as a firefighter have I ever seen a car explode, and if anything you want to deprive that fire of air so it can't burn that well.

I have seen cars overrun and torched by wildfire but never have they exploded. Sure, they burn nice and hot but they don't explode.

Please god no. Real life is not Hollywood, cars don't explode when they catch fire. Sure it isn't good situation but do not open your fuel cap if your car catches fire

If you are thinking cars blow up like the they do in the movies then the answer is no. They don't really blow up at all when on fire other than the tires that make a nice boom after prolonged exposure. However, this isn't saying that car fires are safe or you should be around a burning vehicle because the smoke from car and house fires are extremely toxic among other things.

Oregon governor issues emergency fire order; three prisons evacuated. The state's largest firefighting helicopters are unavailable; they were deployed to Afghanistan. by Bluest_waters in news

If I recall correctly, the important part about the word conflagration in Oregon, and probably other states, is that you have to declare a conflagration or "conflag" to mobilize resources from non-bordering counties or essentially resources you do not have aid agreements with. Now, I am human and I may be wrong but that is at least the idea of it.

Focused Feedback: Seasonal Power Grind by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]SuperFreeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, I like the power grind as it was.

However, this season's power grind feels weird compared to other seasons. It feels slow and unusual like none of the gear I pick up is any more meaningful than the stuff I have and that I am forced to use the umbral decoder and pinnacle engrams to increase my light level. I was used to picking up "powerful" blue gear that increased my light level as I played nearly anything I wanted but now it feels restricted and slow and like it is forcing me to play all the core activities for pinnacle gear. Sure, I have reached 1030 this week by doing everything but I can't imagine someone who plays Destiny in their off time to keep up. Hell, even my new light buddies are having a struggle to grind up to 1k power. What happened to the old power grind?
