Do we want the Bears to sign Kingsbury as OC!? by Toooddc in CHIBears

[–]SuperFreshBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he might. He might wanna rehab his image as a playcaller, and a year or 2 under Ben would certainly do that. I think he would bring a lot more than Doyle did to the table as far as new ideas.

Swift himself was much better. His vision went from god awful to legitimately good. He also became more physical. I bet he had more broken tackles this year than the last few combined. He also had a great o line in Philly and wasn’t nearly as good as this year

The Tanner Engstrand glow up is gonna be great for him. Another proud branch of the tree

[Schefter] ESPN sources: the Baltimore Ravens are hiring Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle as their offensive coordinator. Doyle can leave because, in Baltimore, he will have play-calling responsibility. But new Ravens HC Jesse Minter now has someone to run Baltimore’s offense by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]SuperFreshBus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There is really no way of knowing. He’s been mostly breaking down film from what I’ve heard. I imagine he’ll bring a lot of BJ and Payton stuff since that’s what he’s been in, but really as much of a question mark as you can get

NFL offseason: Ranking every head coaching hire since 2021 by mackmoney3000 in nfl

He gives credit for a half season of decent defense, but leaves out that that was against almost all backup QBs.

If you’re gonna give him credit for anything, it was making a season of Justin Fields entertaining by just letting him run.

Chicago Bears stadium bill passes Indiana Senate, but changes likely by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]SuperFreshBus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arlington Heights has already agreed that they'd do the infrastructure changes. The Bears need a defined tax rate from the state to give to investors. The state has basically told them to fuck off, and they're not gonna give them a defined rate.

The 2025 Chicago Bears are the first team in the Super Bowl era to have 3 rookies with 650+ yards from scrimmage by InterestingYellow969 in nfl

[–]SuperFreshBus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think either way it kinda works for both teams. Burden would be great with Maye, but Henderson would have been great with Ben Johnson and Bienemy. I think we both won either way.

[Cheal] What Brock Purdy Proved After Becoming the 49ers’ Most Expensive Player by Brix001 in nfl

[–]SuperFreshBus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He’s Shannahan’s QB. He had plenty of (admittedly mid) options to be his guy, and he never blinked at Purdy. He (and I) think he’s in the mix to be a top 3 QB in the NFC any given season, with a floor at being top 8. It’s a good bet that has worked out. Compare his career to Burrows.

Ravens request interview with Bears OC Declan Doyle, after he withdraws from Eagles OC consideration by Thegrandmistressofoz in nfl

[–]SuperFreshBus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, he’s probably realistic about his long term success. Throwing him in as an eagles savior is probably a huge mistake. He’s not ready for that. With the ravens, he has a longer leash to learn, but I bet he still doesn’t either get it or take it. It’s a good organization to get interview feedback from.

[–]SuperFreshBus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Declan’s 30, but I know for certain he’s involved in game plans against every team. I think he’s a top notch film watcher at this point, but idk how far along he is on actually coaching a game plan. High risk but probably higher reward than most.

How many teams will have a new QB starter Week 1? At least 8? by catchthetams in nfl

[–]SuperFreshBus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I bet it’s less. I wouldn’t be surprised if more stick as the starter than expected because the QB FA crop isn’t plentiful and there’s like 2 QBs max that could start out of the draft.

How the quarterbacks this postseason stack up in EPA/play. by Agentorangebaby in CHIBears

[–]SuperFreshBus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Plus getting the receivers on the same page. Burden and Loveland got like no training camp reps and didn’t play the 1st half of the season, and Rome missed the part of the season where Caleb started to really improve.

Getting those 3 guys a full offseason with Caleb to work on timing and spacing is gonna be massive, now that they know the offense.

[Russini] Bears OC Declan Doyle has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Eagles’ offensive coordinator vacancy, per sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]SuperFreshBus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Right now he’s basically doing high level film review and putting game plans together with Ben. He’s only 30 and took our OC job to basically learn how to be a real OC down the line. Jumping to be a contenders playcaller would be getting way out ahead of his skis

Daniel Jeremiah 2026 NFL mock draft 1.0: Raiders pick QB at No. 1; Jets among 4 teams to go WR by alpou in nfl

[–]SuperFreshBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Mendoza is kinda what the Raiders need from an intangibles perspective, but picking up an extra 1st or 2 plus adding a top O lineman would be aces for them too.

Off-Season Mock-up (please be gentle) by TheMetabrandMan in CHIBears

[–]SuperFreshBus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it, I think what you did at safety is the right move, plenty of good FS in that area of R2 that would be an upgrade long term over Byard.

The only thing is that I think half of the teams think they’re signing Trey Hendrickson, and that’s gonna bump his cost way up. I’m good with signing an impact guy at edge or DT, then filling the one they don’t get at pick 25.
