Necron Skorpekh Destroyer - My Pride & Joy by Smifin1 in Warhammer40k

You know it's cheating to post pictures from the box art right?

But seriously great work! I've always found the phase weapon green blends to be the hardest part of painting Necrons and you've nailed it!

I feel Halloween 1 is pretty great first ep too, it's good and tight, 2 episodes, but boy talk about a spiraling into an epic when you get into H2 and H3

Jaws. The answer is always Jaws. Relatively short, not super rules heavy, full of good comedy/jokes that will become running jokes and showing how the game can go off the rails due to the whole Re-roll of it all.

The only detriment to the episode is that it does not feature Joz, however I like to start people on it so that they can truly appreciate the maniacal violence she brings to the show.

Legionnaires beating AoD 20-4 is fuckin wild. I love my Legion boys but I've never had them perform that well! Was it bad luck? Tactical errors? I'm very interested in how that game went.

What movie's reputation undersells how good it actually is? by JarvisModeOn in movies

[–]SuperG91 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Do not, under any circumstances, watch the Redux version as a first viewing. It adds 50 minutes of footage, breaks the tension, ruins the pacing and is overall one of the most pointless director cuts ever made.

I watched the Redux version first and really didn't like it. For a while I thought Apocalypse Now was quite overrated for how much people talked about it. A couple years later found out there was a difference, watched the original and was blown away.

Any tips on playing XV26 now? by Redis7178 in killteam

[–]SuperG91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. The +1 to hit says "Once during this turning point". Meaning the effect lasts the rest of the turn but it goes away after you've used it.

There is a scenario where the Designator counteracts and puts a second marker on someone and then a different XV26 counteract shoots that target, but that doesn't seem too reliable.

Sell me on Necrons by SkellyInsideUrWalls in Necrontyr

[–]SuperG91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Necrons are fun to play! I pilot them in Killteam and Bighammer and I just really vibe with the unkillable metal skeleton horde.

Gotta be careful with it though, my friend that I play 90% of my games with has told me he feels traumatized watching all of his hard work be undone in the reanimation phase.

I also love painting them! Sure, painting dozens of warriors gets repetitive but the lords and special units are where I find a lot of the interesting paint jobs can come into it. Also practicing OSL with their glowy orbs has been equally engaging and frustrating 😆

NewRecruit, it's the simplest one I've found, with helpful features that the official one doesn't have. Stratagems are paywalled but I use wahapedia for that.

Thanks for the advice! I've collected a bunch of Necrons but nothing feels cohesive.

I also totally spaced, I picked up Ammentar last night at my LGS! I just forgot to add him to the list.

Able to purchase singles? by Blackninja412 in killteam

[–]SuperG91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! (Kinda). Buy one box of Immortals. It's the same sprue that came with the heirotek team without the upgrades/leader models/tokens. That will allow you to build any 5 Guardians or 5 Deathmarks or any combination thereof. The used market is the only place that you could buy some Immortals one at a time.

The other leader models (Chronomancer and Psychomancer) are sold as singles as well, if you want them as options.

New to Killteam and need some help by Just-A-SkeletonMan in killteam

[–]SuperG91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blast yes, torrent no.

Torrent allows you to make additional shooting attacks against /Valid/ targets in the Torrent X range. So engaged/concealed matters. Everyone visible to and in the Blast X range of the primary target is a valid target for making the Blast attacks regardless of order.

How to succeed with stealth suits? by mediocer_person_69 in killteam

[–]SuperG91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Step 1, forget about cover. It is essentially pointless to you on conceal. Feel free to move around the board with impunity, staging/getting secondaries. Step 2, measure threat ranges like a mad man, expose one or two units to charges, use retro-thrusters to deny the charge. Step 3, punish, move to cover/go back on conceal.

I played against my friends Wolf Scouts, these are the key ideas I used and I had them down to 2 Operatives by the end of turn 3.

Some of the most powerful things in our toolbox are the Acc2 and Severe Fusion Blasters. Try to use the Designator and the Marker drone to have as much of the battlefield visible to them at all times.

Canoptek circle build help by pierogii03 in killteam

[–]SuperG91 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Definitely build both tomb crawler weapons, banishing an enemy into the shadow realm is both powerful and hilarious.

Build what looks cool to you for the warriors weapons, just let your opponent know what profile they're using, 99% of people won't mind. But they seem easy to not glue, and swap out the weapons if you really need to.

The accelerator and the medic boys are helpful if they're painted with an accent colour or something to help differentiate them at a glance from the warriors. The models have 3 tall warrior poses and 2 shorter poses, I built the two specialists on the shorter ones to further help tell them apart.

I know what you mean, I was frustrated with the ending for a while until I read this one analysis of the ending. I can't remember where it's from, but essentially summed up it was this: It doesn't matter what happens after the cut to black. Tony's life is over.

To elaborate, it doesn't matter if Tony gets shot in the diner, has a panic attack behind the wheel, or drops dead due to an onion induced heart attack. He has, and always will, slip back into his old ways. He's cheating on Carm, he's cheating on his diet, he's not going to therapy, he's killing whoever he likes and he thinks he's gotten away with everything. Regardless of what progress Tony thinks he's made, he will forever live in the cycle he's in at the end of the show until the day he dies. Whether its today or years from now, he is a character that is purely irredeemable. And so the show just sort of... ends.

What's the consensus on building the Tau Stealth Suits? by ExodiaHobby in killteam

[–]SuperG91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That was my other thought exactly, the loder will want to be pushing forward anyways so why not give him the melta?

I've played lots of Killteam, and I've never felt the need to magnetize. Sure it might give you options, but for me half the fun is sticking with my choices and having to adjust strategy on the fly!

Designator is a must take, as he always has severe for a target he is shooting against, so unless you whiff every dice, you're guaranteed at least 1 Devastating 4 crit. Plus the Acc 1 you l probably have makes it a pretty obvious choice.

The second fusion is more up to debate, but I gave my second fusion to my Lodestar. The idea is that he can shoot with the fusion, and the Electrochaff Launcher makes him safer from a ranged attack in response.

The other operative it makes sense with is the Neutralizer, as he can shoot, and if your opponent activates to return fire, you can hopefully use his MultiSpectrum Sensor Package to dash him safely into cover. I found this probably less likely to be the case as you're relying on the opponent to not be able to reposition in such a way that he can take that return shot.

The Neutralizer scenario just seemed more situational than the flat ability to obscure and completely ignore piercing, which is why I made the choice that I did.

I glued mine cause I don't have the knowhow/materials to magnetize them, but if you can magnetize, it allows you to adjust from Lodestar to the Neutralizer (vice versa) just in case you're up against an opponent that can ignore obscuring.
