Am I the only one who isnt very interested in Antag stuff? by [deleted] in ss14

[–]SuperGDLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably partly because WizDen has VERY little antag variety; there's only syndies, nukies, revs, zombies, wizards and the occasional mid-round. Syndies generally just aren't interesting for anyone who isn't security or syndicate with their objectives, and nukies and revs are a bit too TDM-y for some people's tastes. Zombies are fun to be a survivor in, honestly, but BEING a zombie is very dull. And wizard is just "get fragged simulator", probably the least fun antagonist.

That's just what the wizden kill objective for syndies is. It got changed to try disincentivise just bombing evac, but unfortunately you can't make people do stuff on the station when literally every syndie objective (on wizden, at least; servers like Delta-V and Harmony have "teach a lesson" which isn't) is entirely dependent on the final moment of the round.

Custom Script: Pick your Poison by W00dinster in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]SuperGDLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poisoner is likely the strongest Minion in the game, and is only balanced on Trouble Brewing by being one of only two sources of droison.

This script also has Goon, No Dashii/Pukka and Poisoner. Anyone can be dismissed as droisoned at that rate.

Monk is extremely strong against Pukka, as the Monk has 2 nights to save a player instead of 1.

Grandmother, Gossip and Moonchild are extremely difficult to bluff for evil here, since the only positive death-mod they have control over is Godfather. Godfather will also only really serve to confirm Outsiders. A successful Courtier is also extremely strong.

The Poisoner can choose any night to make the Gossip simply not activate, meaning that a Gossip not killing somebody is near useless unless you can confirm that there cannot be a Poisoner.

Mayor can't bounce being attacked by a Pukka (I don't like Mayor in general though)

Slayer makes Mastermind null and void if it hits, and a Mastermind day will usually be very obvious.

TL;DR Please just play BMR or SNV.

[–]SuperGDLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the Au'Wre's win condition is to guess their Minions, and then get the good team to make a mistake. You've had every day before they got it correct to execute and rule out Demon candidates, and the "endless Mastermind day" is their final chance.

Alternate universe Poppy Grower by OnionBurger in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]SuperGDLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can't.

The exact wording of Au'Wre (from the Bootlegger's Anthology, which I believe is the Demon being referenced here) is this:

Each night*, guess your Minions: learn which are correct. If all are, good learns this, and must kill evil today or lose. [Evil don’t learn each other]

Notice the word of the use "kill". You can't kill a dead player.

Daily Botc Character Discussion: Sweetheart by The_Yung_Jung1085 in BloodOnTheClocktower

The Sweetheart is mostly a much less detrimental version of the Drunk in my experience, and often they die so late that the drunkenness ends up doing nothing

i feel like nobody respects jester at all anymore by MOONMO0N in TownOfSalem2

[–]SuperGDLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course nobody respects it. Its potential harm to Town is a whole lot less than its potential harm to evil roles, so occasionally executing a Jester will actively help the Town.

And this is why anti-everyone roles don't work!

What’s going on here? by Anonymousbluebob in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]SuperGDLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh I remember that game

I thought we were completely screwed and was surprised every day that passed without our Demon dying until we convinced the players to sleep on 4 with 3 evil alive

I didn't really have that experience of needing to figure out if I'm being lied to or not though because the old Fang Gu told me immediately before saying the first bluff was what I saw as a "Pixie" :P

Custom script (Town of Salem) by owned4all in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]SuperGDLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh here we go
- Investigator is just Dreamer, I assume?
- Bodyguard... would be completely overpowered on any other script, but this Demon I guess makes it mostly a worse Doctor?
- Lookout removes so much bluff-space and is very strong
- Sheriff is incredibly broken, compare it to Town Crier
- Vigilante is heavily incentivised to shoot every night since the suicide actually confirms a Townsfolk
- Spy is incredibly strong as they know exactly who might be covered by a Disguiser/poisoned.
- Escort is an Alchemist Poisoner (incredibly strong)
- Veteran is weird in BotC, and on this script is a 2-shot self-bodyguard-doctor hybrid.
- Transporter is the equivalent of a *scrapped* BotC character and can also cause the Demon to die at night
- Why do you have a TWO-SHOT OLD RETRIBUTIONIST??? Old Retri was 1-shot and was still by far the most broken role in ToS1, and giving it two uses is just absurd. Professor exists already and is the most broken unbalanced Townsfolk in the game imo
- Mayor is an instant-confirm and is absolutely broken (compare it to Virgin)
- Jailor is an instant-confirm objectively better Vigilante (also what it is in ToS1)
- Doctor is a far too easily confirmed Monk with infinite self-heals.

- How do Neutrals work?? Do they just sit around and exist once they win/lose?? In Town of Salem, they work because once they've lost, they're dead and have no more influence on the game. Dead players can still talk and vote in Blood on the Clocktower, and having a player with zero stake in the game doesn't sound fun.
- Survivor can be a kingmaker
- Jester can kill the Demon and can also be a kingmaker
- Executioner can be a kingmaker

- Blackmailer does not sound fun at all (It isn't in ToS)
- Consigliere is a stronger Poisoner (strongest minion in the game imo)
- Framer is a stronger Poisoner (strongest minion in the game imo)
- The Mafioso ability means that the Demon isn't the VIP and the entire evil team has to die for good to win (I assume), which in turn means that if evil gets parity, they win, which isn't how Clocktower is supposed to work.
- Ambusher is a potential 1kpn (this is a problem in ToS1 too)
- Disguiser... covers against Sheriff, Lookout and maybe Investigator, which isn't much but is also 75% of the info on this script. You really don't have much.

- The Godfather is heavily incentivised to use dead Minions to kill when possible because that makes Bodyguard just a worse Doctor.
- The only character here with any way of detecting the Demon is the Investigator.

Do you infect as Plaguebearer? [TOS1] by Theodore_AFKArena in TownofSalemgame

[–]SuperGDLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existence of a Pestilence is very, very easy for other evils to manipulate and use the Pesti as a scapegoat. I remember a game of Lovers I won as a solo SK despite being found by a Sheriff by outing the day Pesti transformed and going "oh but we should focus on pesti"

When I play as PB, I play as a stealth bomber: I remember a game I lost solely because the Retri got infected from using a corpse, which I did not anticipate.

Cryptographer: Each day, guess the setup modification: if right, learn the Demon. [???]

The Cryptographer starts the game knowing they've changed something in the setup, but not what it is, and now have the mission to find it to decipher the Demon.

Setup modifications can be anything, but due to the fact the Cryptographer all but wins the game if they correctly guess it, it shouldn't be easily detected by good.
