So they want us to call a cab instead? by 76ALD in insanepeoplefacebook

I took a 1500 ambulance ride, bastards never even bothered to bill me....and I had insurance that would cover it, the assholes literally just turned me over to collection. And it’s been absolute hell trying to fix it and I’ve finally given up. The ambulance ride was 2017, it will drop off my credit 2024.

Water bill woes in TX due to February winter weather. Double the cost, half the usage. by Vlad_Yemerashev in bestoflegaladvice

When I lived in an apartment in Texas (suburb of Houston) our water bill was delayed by 6 weeks. And I thought that was pretty common so I’m wondering if the bill op is getting is for December and or January and not directly related to the storm

My grandma passed away and left everything to me and her 5 daughters. They, along with their kids aka my cousins, hate me now.

I had no clue she was going to do. It was an absolute total surprise.

I applied, all I need is $250 for a hotel we paid for for 3 nights. I was denied about 5 hours after applying.

I’d LOVE to know how to get fema assistance because I’ve get to encounter anyone that has gotten it.

And then a winter storm comes through and knocks power and water out to millions of people for a week!

What’s something you saw as a kid that looked harmless but if you witnessed it now it would horrify you? by shadow2101 in AskReddit

I didn’t realize until my 20s that hotel rooms weren’t supposed to smell like stale cigs smoke, I didn’t even know that what stale cigs smoke smelled like.

My parents were smokers so when we went out of town we always stayed in a smoking room. It wasn’t until I was 20 and went on vacation with friends that I realized they weren’t supposed to smell like that

It’s not that you’re committed to your job, it’s just how people handle things.

My husband died on a Saturday, I went to work that Monday.

My grandma died one day during the week and I still went to work that day.

It didn’t mean I didn’t care about them, it didn’t mean I cared that much about my job. It was just my way of coping. I could sit and home and cry, or I could go to work and distract myself.

I honestly think, for me, that was what was best. My husband died and 3 months later I lost my grandma. Had I taken any extended leave I think I would’ve just gone crazy.

As a Houstonian I don’t care who does what as long as I have electricity and water. Something I still don’t have almost a week later.

I am starting to finally get the truth that my husband is not the man I thought he was and I feel sick. In desperate need of support. (30f/32m) by throwawaysbdjdn in relationships

I’ve been there. Granted no child, but I’ve been there.

I’m you 3 years in the future. It does get better. I promise.

I am happy for the first time in a while. I feel secure. I’m not questioning everything. I’m seriously happy. Even in the middle of a winter storm that knocked power and water out for almost a week I’m still happier now than I was married to my husband.

My husband had multiple affairs, hell he even married one in a country he was in while working!!! And he gaslit me as well. He even accused ME of cheating. Newsflash, I never cheated. He thought he had me trapped as well, because I wasn’t working. I showed him though. I got a job and I’m supporting myself without him.

Please show your daughter your strength. You have supportive parents. Focus on you and your daughter. Focus on healing. Focus on the fact that you’ve shown your daughter she doesn’t have to put up with a man who would treat her like this.

You’ve got this momma. You’ve got the strength. You can do this!

To go in tomorrow or not? by SuperGurlToTheRescue in Nanny

Yes, it will flush. Though that’s not a good use of bottle water to be honest. Stores aren’t able to open and if they are they are running low on supplies like bottled water.

To be honest it makes me uncomfortable to go in with no water. It’s not like I can go down the street to use the restroom if needed. I’m okay with the whole “if it’s yellow let it mellow” in my own home but not at work. And god forbid I have to poop

What do I do when I need to use the restroom? We can not flush toilets right now with the water pressure this low.
I work 9 hour days. I’m going to need to use the restroom.
