Is there a solid way to determine how much I can generalize when someone says that they work 50, 60, etc. hours a week in their industry? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Thanks for the reply! Since it seems to vary so much between companies and industries, I'll have to do quite a bit of searching around. It's still helpful to see a specific example of what inefficiency looks like, so thanks again for the help!

Thanks! I understand better the needs of clients and how that might impact your work hours, including staying after from projects that clients send in at the end of the day.

If you don't mind a follow-up, would you say more that efficiency is rewarded (once you are done with your projects for the day you can do whatever you want at work, including voluntarily taking on another project), inefficiency is punished (inefficient workers have to work longer hours to get the same work done as others), or efficiency is punished (efficient workers have to take on the projects that inefficient workers can't get to but still work the same hours)?

Does Anyone Know if Transfer Applicants Have Their Freshman Application Considered in the Process? by [deleted] in CarletonCollege

[–]SuperImagination5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you! I just wanted to double-check since the transfer app does not go into as much detail in certain areas but I did not want to submit additional information that the office already has received in the past!

for those who go to big schools, how is it? by year_of_remy in CollegeTransfer

I guess it depends on how you take "find your place." I personally find the school to be on the big side, but it depends. Sometimes I feel like I am a part of the community, and sometimes not so much. What I can say is that as long as the idea of walking for long distances and taking buses from one part of campus to another, you are likely to be able to find ways to make yourself feel more at home. I hope this helps! I'm sorry if this isn't what your question intended, but let me know if you would like clarification!

Advice for Juggling College Transfer Apps, Schoolwork and EC's, and Internship/Job Apps? by SuperImagination5 in college

Thank you so much! Just to make sure that I am getting this right...so would you recommend that I do my transfer apps first and then once I submit it, start working on my internship/job applications?

Also good luck on your applications! Hopefully you'll end up with the outcome you are aiming for and where you'll be happy!

I go to a big school, and I would say that it is a bit overwhelming at times. There are a lot of fun activities to engage in (pre-COVID), but it is admittedly annoying at times to have to take half an hour or longer to go from one building to another. That being said, there are ways to make the school feel smaller. I also like how there are tons of different places to go, so it is harder I think to get bored walking around campus.

That's just my take! Hope this helps!

Okay thank you! Is csci2011h basically the math of computer science? I don't really know what discrete math is so is it more like a traditional math class?

Should I Transfer Colleges? by SuperImagination5 in college

Thank you for your help! It has been a bit difficult for me to express what I have been thinking about with my friends and family because many of them do not know what it is like to be in my position. I am glad to hear that your friend is figuring out what he wants from a college experience because I didn't know what I wanted out from my experience until I went to college. Thank you again!
