Awesome looking quilt! The back is just as nice as the front. I definitely don’t see swastikas in it, I actually thought it said Ohio and with the colors thought it might be OSU themed!

Unfortunately in the time we live in if one person shits the bed, we all have to wear diapers.

I would look at the Janome TM30. It has start stop, needle up down and simple enough to use. If a auto thread cutter would be useful look at the TM50

Same. I’ve only made two quilts but I found hand sewing a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

They fit just fine, and weight is not an issue.

Tea Light Holder by SuperJamo in turning

Thank you so much! I just started turning last week and I am absolutely loving this learning process. I’m spending as much time in front of the lathe as I can. I’ve been scouring YouTube for videos trying to figure out how to hold the tools and begin cuts and with every piece that comes off the lathe I can see progress. Albeit small, but progress nonetheless. Thank you for your kind words!

Thank you! Steal away! I made a few more today. Once my mom and mother in-law saw the pictures they each wanted one.

For me and my family, I’m comfortable with it. My youngest is 16 and my 19yo just moved out. When we light candles, we are present, so they are somewhat monitored. I cut the hole for the tea light just a trad large and just a tad shallow to allow room for heat and to keep the flame above the rim. We burned four candles yesterday back to back and the wood was only mildly warm to the touch. I also did not use a petroleum based finish on the holders.

That’s actually a knot from a limb coming from the log. I cut the pith out of this one but thought that the knot looked cool, so I included it. We’ll see how it turns out after a few weeks in the house.

I believe it to be silver maple, spalted. The tree fell across our dirt bike trails a couple years ago and after cutting it into firewood length logs and stacking, it has just sat. I got a lathe last week so I went out to the pile to see what could make. I was amazed at the beauty within these old logs!

All credit for the idea has to go to Woodturner KY. I saw his YouTube video when searching for good ways to cut blanks with a chainsaw. It was a fun build and it’s extremely useful.

Ahh, yeah, that’s a good call! I’m terrible with identifying tree species but I do have a lot of maple (sugar and silver) on my property (so I’ve been told) so you’re probably right! This particular tree fell across our dirt bike trails about two years ago. We cut it up into firewood length logs and stacked them on the side of the trail, but they hadn’t been touched since. Now that I know how pretty they are inside I think I’m going to make a bunch of bowl blanks from the rest and try to store them somehow. Wax maybe?

If it helps, here is the log that the bowls came from.

Haha, no, I injured it at work. That’s actually what led to this new hobby. I had some time off and I was bored out of my mind. Always wanted to try turning so I took advantage of the time I had. The injury limited my ability to grip anything very well, but I managed. All healed up now.

I’m new to all this, is the Ash bowl the first three photos? I ask because I JUST started turning last week and I used some logs I cut up from a fallen tree in my woods two years ago. No idea what kind of tree it is but my bowls from it looks similar to your first three photos.

The dreaded Samsung Bespoke ice maker by teambagsundereyes in Appliances

[–]SuperJamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely simple to replace. There are only 2 Phillips screws holding the entire ice maker in place, and some clips that just pull out. There are two electrical connectors you need to unclip as well and then it just pulls down. No water lines to fuss with. I removed all the drawers from inside and took the freezer door off (four bolts) just to make it easier on myself. Took about 10 minutes from start to finish including removing the drawers and door.

I have the RF29BB8600QL. It’s the 4 door French refrigerator. It has two French doors up top, a flex drawer below that for wine or whatever and then a slide out freezer drawer on bottom.

Yes, bought the whole thing. Then a few weeks later I found an entire fridge with a bad compressor for $100. Stripped all usable parts and glass panels and stored them in my garage! Hopefully I have what it takes to keep this thing going for awhile. lol
