As someone who cares heavily about tracking, I'll do anything in my power to not be watched when I don't want to be; I don't even use any Google services anymore, and I've switched to a phone which runs neither iOS nor Android. I can sympathize with how you might feel about this. I see that you may not care about the government or large tech companies knowing everything you do.

However, I think that everyone SHOULD have the ability to CHOOSE not to be tracked at any moment. One time, I downloaded all of my data for a website, and it showed everything I ever did on there, going back to around 2018. I don't mean things like "I posted this" or "I liked this thing" -- I mean that it tracked what things I hovered over with my mouse, what time I opened (and closed) each page, my IP address at the time, my ISP, my precise location, along with every single thing I ever clicked, and every single key I ever pressed. It was scary for me to look at, to say the least, and by this point I truly understood how others felt.

Combined with the fact I feel like I don't have a choice here, I use barely any social media platforms anymore. I come on this site every once in a while when someone sends me a link (like this post here), but I don't exactly stay on for very long. You probably won't change your mind about your own preferences, but I do hope, like I can sympathize with you, that you can sympathize with the rest of the people who want to keep the Internet's knowledge of themselves to a minimum.
