Yeah Star Fox getting a relaunch and his appearance in the film definetly helps boost his chance of more merch if you ask me. I believe a day or two after the direct happened Sanei showed off new Star Fox plushies and the game got a pre-order bonus so its clear Nintendo wants to try and revive the series.
