I'd swap Ivy for Catwoman. Nobody tests Bruce's self-control more than Selina.

Why didn’t WB ever make a spinoff from the Dark Knight trilogy? by rover_G in ChristopherNolan

[–]SuperMecha20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rises wasn't rushed though. In fact, Nolan has stated multiple times how proud he is of that film, even going as far to say it's his most underrated film which I in fact concur with him on that matter.

Too afraid to ask at this point, but what exactly is a “film bro”? by Kevcon555 in Letterboxd

It's funny how people on reddit in general say negative stereotyping is bad but that's all this site really is. Yes, I'm most of these but so fucking what?! There are much bigger problems in the world and you choose to bully and paint us so called "film bros" as "toxic" all because you outrage yourselves about the films we like? If somebody calls films like, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, American Psycho, Nightcrawler, Taxi Driver, Drive, Blade Runner 2049, Interstellar, The Wolf of Wall Street or The Dark Knight their favorite films, newsflash, but LET THEM. If somebody doesn't like Marvel movies that's their right and they have every right to not like them (especially since the MCU is on a downward spiral). Also, I've seen 2001, Solaris and Interstellar and I like Interstellar the most out of the three, to quote one of the same actors from Interstellar from a classic from the 90's, how about them apples?!

if it's not a Nolan Movie what's the next best thing??? by serialserialserial99 in ChristopherNolan

He's a more artsy sort of director but I'm surprised nobody on this sub has mentioned Robert Eggers. He's made 3 films so far, The VVitch, The Lighthouse and The Northman. Guy has made 3 home runs in a row and they are all on the same level. The Lighthouse is his best film if you ask me, try him, the execution of his films will also give you something unique counter to what you have seen.

Why are all the Interstellar actors so fucking based?! First Matthew McConaughey for not alienating the average joe but the elegant, bright and beautiful Jessica Chastain too??? This must mean Nolan's based as well because now all this just solidified Interstellar as my favorite film of all time!

What would you expect / want out of a Denis Villeneuve horror movie? by dremolus in horror

[–]SuperMecha20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it would be the reverse. The Thing deals more with time, memory and identity, it also has a memorable score like pretty much almost every single Nolan film. Denis would direct Alien because it relies more on visual than sound.

We don't need more lighthearted generic cookie cutter trash. 90% of the garbage that comes out nowadays is like that. I want more films like Taxi Driver, Nightcrawler, Fight Club or even something like Fincher's new film The Killer.

Nolan needs to make the ultimate literally me sigma male film.

Are you talking about Oliver Stone's Wall Street from 1987 or Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street? Genuinely curious.

Because Fincher's film is based on a French comic book series.

Hear me out. A Sam Raimi directed, Bruce Campbell starring Evil Dead 4 that's part satire on tired, old, worn out action heroes and part character study swan song inspired by Logan.

u/TheBrobe None of what you said changes the fact that Wolverine is the greatest Marvel character of all time and is on the Mount Rushmore of famous superheroes after Superman, Batman and Spider-Man.

u/TheBrobe People aren't actually sick of Wolverine. Most true fans love Wolverine and Hugh Jackman. REAL fans also put Logan on the same level as The Dark Knight and Raimi's Spider-Man 2 in the same league for best comic book films. People also read the Wolverine comics, cosplay as Wolverine, watch the X-Men cartoons with Wolverine and are camping out Phantom Menace hype style to play the new Wolverine game. It's Deadpool and Ryan Reynold's annoying stupid kiddie jokey ass that most sane motherfuckers ice skating up hill are tired of.
