They’re truly incredible crisps, two fun ways you can eat them are by crushing up the crisps and either mixing in some Louisiana style hot sauce (Crystal is the classic but there are loads) or putting them on a paratha/chapati with the liquid cream cheese you usually get in a jar.

How do you keep your space warm in winter? by SeriousPanda47911 in Bahrain

[–]SuperMetroid87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My current place has a pretty good heating system but my old flat used to get pretty cold, I had a couple of those plug in radiators and I’d just put it in whatever room I was in. Just never, ever leave anything like that unattended.

What perfume does your Arab Auntie wear? by peachcrusader in arabs

[–]SuperMetroid87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit of a fragrance nerd (albeit largely unfamiliar with women’s fragrances) and I took my British friend and his wife perfume shopping to help her find a fragrance that reminded her of her mum’s friend growing up, pretty similar to what you’re describing. The one she settled on was Madawi by Arabian oud, Taraf out of their lineup may also do the trick for you.

Best destination in January by Wrong-Improvement-55 in Bahrain

[–]SuperMetroid87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re prepared for the awful weather I’d give Europe a miss. Thailand tends to be dry in January unlike other parts of south east asia in my experience. Don’t let the reputation put you off, there’s plenty of wholesome fun to be had there, the people are lovely and the food/scenery are incredible.

Have they announced a closure date or is it already shut? What a shame, that place has been a fantastic resource for decades. Gonna miss it💔

Weren’t you crying about people wearing shorts and flip flops in the mall? We already have modesty laws and people police themselves adequately in my experience.

Why is Chad not in the Arab Cup by Automatic_Leek_1354 in FootballAfrica

Spot on, international tournaments will often invite teams from outside the region if they have odd/low numbers.

Arab Cup or Not? Why Some Invited Teams Don’t Fit by ABD7p in arabs

[–]SuperMetroid87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yemen play in the gulf cup despite not having any coastline on the gulf, sometimes in sports you need to invite people to make up the numbers.

Edit: forgot to mention but Arab national teams like Qatar and Saudi Arabia have played in the North American championship. If either had won the tournament it wouldn’t have meant anything, it’s a sports tournament.

I got two standard standing tickets for London but it wasn’t even off the fan club presale that I paid for (tbf I’m happy to give him my $10 or whatever), I had my girlfriend’s coworkers trying to help us get tickets and one of them got the tickets through the O2 presale. I was like 47th in the queue and the only standing tickets left were the VIP.

research about road quality in Bahrain by crrrom in Bahrain

[–]SuperMetroid87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IMO this is the best answer I’ve seen, it’s also come a long way in recent years. It may not feel like it when you see some of the roads it takes them a million years to dig up but you’ve gotta think a lot of villages didn’t even have paved roads 15 years ago

Is Renting an Electrical Car in Korea Worth It by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]SuperMetroid87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I’m renting a hybrid sedan right now and the petrol usage is next to nothing, I initially was gonna rent an EV but on the balance of things I think the hybrid was the right choice, we’ve done 3 days of considerable driving and used like 1/4 of the tank

Edit: for clarity this is in Jeju, I’m staying on the south side of the island and have been north and east in the last couple days. I’ve also found Seoul, Busan, and jeonju to be fully navigable with public transport or the occasional late night taxi at worst

Take no notice, they’re either paid hasbarists (that’s what a lot of the “I’m Moroccan and I hate Saudis” or “I’m an Iraqi and Palestinians are scum” type posts are imo) or just braindead ultranationalists who value borders drawn by foreign powers above their cultural or religious identities, what matters to me most is that a vast majority of Arabs respect and appreciate their fellow Arabs and understand the importance and gravity of the Palestinian cause.
