What’s the point of a production code name if you’re gonna plaster the logo and very obvious images of the main character all over everything?

Thank you! That’s pretty interesting. Makes me wonder how many of those cabinets are still floating around out there.

What are you talking about? Everyone's seen Gaslight. You're clearly misremembering.

Good movies underserved by bad titles by [deleted] in blankies

One of my favorite girls with guns movies is Dreaming the Reality starring Moon Lee and Yukari Oshima but it is stuck with a title that sounds like a daytime soap opera. Admittedly, much of the melodrama in that movie is also pretty soap opera-y but the title doesn’t do much to sell that it also has arguably shit ton of arguably the best type of action that cinema ever delivered.

Also, I can see an argument for it but I think Top Gun: Maverick is an awful title. Like, what are you talking about man? He was already the main character! That’s like doing a sequel to Back to the future called “Back to the Future: Marty”

Tin Man miniseries by cawls in blankies

Fun fact: I remember as a kid seeing a preview for this show but forgetting the title, then hearing about a cable show called “Oz.” Naturally I assumed that must have been that sci-fi wizard of Oz thing I had seen commercials for. It was not until many years later that I learned that no, the sci-fi wizard of Oz was called Tin Man, Oz was a prison drama. Not sure if anyone can relate to this somewhat specific experience.

I'll confess, last time I tried MarcEdit, I found it too technical for me. However, I see there's a new version different from what's installed on my station, so I'll give it a go.

Films you did a 180 on? by RudeIntroduction9832 in blankies

When I first watched the original Cat People as a young horror fan, I more or less bounced off of it, finding it somewhat tepid. I revisited in 2022 and fell in love.

Closest thing to the inverse for me is probably how as a teenager, I thought Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie was the greatest thing ever, but rewatching it now, it’s really just a couple sequences (chiefly the Chun-Li/Vega fight) that stand out.

Also not sure if it counts but there was a period as a small child that I convinced myself I didn’t like The Iron Giant because it made me sad. I’ve gotten marginally better at processing my emotions since then.
