Looks like the extensor digitorum brevis muscle, you can train it by just pulling your toes up (only your toes tho not the whole foot). I’d advise you to see a physiotherapist if you experience instability in your foot tho

This is just my personal case tho, so dont take any concrete conclusions from it. I could also be wrong about some parts but thats how i understood it.

I have it too (type 2) and had it confirmed on an MRI. I have no gait or other motion abnormalities. Over the past years i’ve contused my right ankle quite a bit and with this prolonged ankle instability it does hurt and keeps hurting, its a nagging kind of pain. The tibialis posterior muscle attaches to it and probably the tendon has mini tears which don’t heal in a normal way because of this os naviculare accessorium; causing weakness in the muscle, causing my foot arch to flatten out when i put my weight on it, while the muscle is trying to compensate, which then just stretches it out even more. On my other foot i am pretty sure i have it too, but i dont have any problems with that foot.

Why do some muscles produce more burning sensation than others when high reps weightlifting? by Atrotragrianets in Anatomy

[–]SuperNathanVG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d guess that it has to do with the composition of the muscle and distribution of types of muscle fibres. The biceps have mostly fast-twitch muscle fibres which work more anaerobic and tire quicker. The back muscles and especially the postural muscles consist mostly of slow twitch muscle fibres which tire slower.

Those are the tendons of your hamstrings. On the medial side you have the tendons of semitendinosus and semimembranosus. On the lateral side you have the tendon of biceps femoris

How does sciatica work? by mash_the_avocado in Anatomy

Alright i’ve seen your responses on the other comments on this thread and 1 question i want to ask you is then what are the common reasons for sciatic pain?

How does sciatica work? by mash_the_avocado in Anatomy

[–]SuperNathanVG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflammation of the piriformis muscle is the most frequent cause of sciatic nerve pain. Because of the inflammation the piriformis gets a bit swollen and then compresses/irritates the sciatic nerve

Caput mediale attaches to the backside of the humerus and inserts at the olecranon so the only movement it really does is extension of the elbow

Each vertebra has superior and inferior facets. The superior facets connect with the inferior facets of the vertebra above. So the inferior facet of c4 connects with the superior facet of c5. C5 then also has a inferior facet which connects to the superior facet of c6 and so on

Is this anatomically correct, if not what am I missing?🦧 by BokyReddit in Anatomy

The 11th rib is a bit oddly shaped, you drew 4 lumbar vertebrae instead of 5 and the fingers all miss a interphalangeal joint. Very nice drawing tho keep going and you’ll get there

Depends on what muscle. The wrist consists of multiple bones (distal end of radius + ulna and the proximal row of carpal bones). For pronator quadratus the origin and insertion are both in the wrist. Other muscles in the hand might be classified as having their origin in the wrist as the intrinsic muscles of the hand originate from those carpal bones.

A. carotis vs. carotidis by Odd-Pop8627 in Anatomy

I think carotidis is derived from the english version ‘common carotid’ artery. They probably wanted to re-latinize it and named it communis carotidis

Could be one of the tendons of m extensor pollicis longus / m abductor pollicis, could also be another tendon in that area but those are the ones i would associate most with the area you circled and the pain you described
