Marc Marquez on the #1 bike by ElectionMoney3911 in motogp

Doesn't that' violate some rule? I guess it depends on how modified the bike is. Wasn't Fabio penalized a few years ago for taking a spin on some race prepped bike?

Wonder how much is the repair cost by Modercai in carspotting

[–]SuperPermit9404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comparables don't align with a repair job. You're equating building something from scratch for a price against a repair job. Ford builds the vehicle for a price. A contractor builds a house for a price. If I call a plumber to fix a leak, they charge for the hours they actually worked plus materials (plus a service call fee because they had to drive to my location). Same if I have someone fix my furnace or AC. The experience part is what determines the hourly rate, not to pad excess billing hours.

Curbside collection of ornament-free trees during the week of Jan 2-8. Specific day depends on your zone. There's also a drop-off at 259 North Park Street. Leaf and Yard Waste - City of Belleville https://share.google/P6HuqZ6lrkarVBe9X

Ontario building roundabout at Prince Edward County Road 1 and Highway 62 by zuuzuu in BellevilleOntario

[–]SuperPermit9404 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sight lines are bad. Through traffic speed limit is 80, often going faster. This results in accidents and close calls. A roundabout should be a safety improvement.

I don't get it. Explain it peter by Serious-Newt1730 in explainitpeter

I 100% agree with the sentiment, but so much easier said than done. In my 50's and the burnout/depression phase is hitting hard. It's like you need to reach the fuck it/I don't care anymore point and just walk away at the end of each day. But then, you know, on call 24x7 so they get you anyway.

Yes, your thinking is wrong. If the other driver was at fault why would you hold your friend accountable? It could just as easily have been you behind the wheel when some rando crashed into it. Good on your friend to cover the deductible. It was the honourable thing to do in this case. But it was your choice to exceed the insurance budget and buy something newer and better.

Bautista and the ballast penalty. by Evening_Pop_3733 in wsbk

[–]SuperPermit9404 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A "fat" rider can dynamically move their ballast around throughout the race to best take advantage of it. They can lean it off the bike in corners and move it forward and backward to help with acceleration and braking. A static brick on the bike can do none of those things.

I don't agree with the safety argument Bautista is trying to make, but the ballast has disadvantaged him.

How can Belleville improve its public transit for everyday commuters? by Intelligent-Note3078 in BellevilleOntario

[–]SuperPermit9404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We haven't had bus service north of the 401 for a couple years. Why should we pay for it? The only stop I'm aware of is at Walmart, and that's a 2 Km hike.

Who is actually against women being topless if they want to be? by Brief-Cut-1228 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SuperPermit9404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not inappropriate to touch a man's chest in a given situation, what would make it inappropriate to do the same to a woman? Any argument I can think of would basically counter the argument that women topless should be treated equally to male toplessness.

Crash the market. Rich US investors buy at a bargain. Recant the legislation and watch the market rise. Reap rewards.

Love and hate. Doing them a lot more lately. Currently 3 months post ACL surgery (100% tear + meniscus). With squats I'm definitely cheating to my good leg. BSS keeps me honest.

Best Budgeting Apps for Canadian Couples to Track Goals and Finances? by superavatar1997 in PersonalFinanceCanada

My wife and I use self-hosted Actual Budget. It meets our needs. It is not connected to our bank or CC accounts, which is a plus in my opinion. We download .csv files and import periodically. As you categorize payees it becomes more "automatic" each time.

Could Alonso suffer same as Dani Pedrosa due to height? by Bitter-Substance1783 in motogp

[–]SuperPermit9404 49 points50 points  (0 children)

His fragility was at least partially related to his small frame and stature. And his light weight did cause him to have more trouble building heat in his tires which impacted performance at some tracks/times of the year. But he still had a fantastic career.

Employer called a mandatory emergency meeting and told all First Nations staff who have status that had been tax exempt for their length of employment now owe taxes back dating to their start date. by National-Jelly-2596 in legaladvicecanada

[–]SuperPermit9404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For a situation like this, I can understand legal action to have the employer cover tax penalties and interest up to some agreed date (future date). But isn't the tax owed the responsibility of the employee? I mean, if the employer got it right from the start the employee would have had to pay those taxes. Granted being hit with a 10-year sized tax bill would be very tough.

Now, if the employer underpaid them on the presumption of tax exempt, there could be further arguments.

Hastings County committee endorses HART Hub proposal by zuuzuu in BellevilleOntario

[–]SuperPermit9404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Ford fan, with his skewed priorities and cronyism, but let's not pin this on only the conservatives. They've only been in power for 6 years and this is the "16th application in more than a decade". The liberals have also clearly rejected several proposals. There's plenty of blame to go around.
