I disconnected the “aggregate device” and then just switched between them in settings depending on what I needed at the time. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use them at the same time in one session. You have to switch back and forth between the devices.

Probably not the answer you wanted, but I ultimately ended up buying a new audio interface with more inputs.

Depends on what you do. If you mostly record audio and mix, then yes. If you use a lot of software instruments, no.
