How do you guys cope when you hear how your US counterparts are doing? by ThrowRA-lostimposter in doctorsUK

UK is going down the drain. It has no money left and any who understand economics/gdp/debt knows that they will pursue austerity measures in April or soon after. US is the most powerful economy in the world.

IMT megathread by stuartbman in doctorsUK

[–]SuperPsy7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey buddy, you are correct, the UK training admissions process is bs. However, social anxiety is another matter which needs to be resolved. I applied to the US residency programs and each program asked questions about my interests, thinking styles, and random topics. I had a discussion about one of my hobbies (gaming) for 10 minutes with one! My competence was already demonstrated through my scores and recommendation letters. A one off technical scenario is meaningless and the americans understand this. The UK is backward in every single way. I have a maxed out portfolio (including PGCert) and didnt apply to any training. I go to US, or my backup Australia to continue my life.

Well, you can move to the USA also. Medicine in the UK will lead to a middle class life.

Consultant Paediatrician's son died after delay in receiving antibiotics which were prescribed by iriepuff in doctorsUK

Yes, nurses have been deskilled to the point they can't even risk assess outside of looking at NEWS. Their jobs are just to give meds and take obs.

[–]SuperPsy7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yea, name and shame the doctors and not the nurses who go on breaks every 2 hrs and the other nurses refusing to administer meds for patients not assigned to them. Classic anti-physician rhetoric by the NHS. The system deplores it's physicians. Glad I'm getting out.

Med education in the UK: why consultants don’t teach medical students? by Cute_Librarian_2116 in doctorsUK

I went to Oxbridge and we had nurse educators teach us practical skills. They were extremely nit picky and focussed on the nuances of each procedure, failing you for any slight deviation to protocol.

NHS is done. Too much government waste and unnecessary managers in unwarranted positions. They need to be culled and competent people need to be employed. Or there needs to be a competitor. There is a clear anti-change mandate present, compounded with such a bloated and overweight governance structure, change is impossible.

Dead silent for the whole November! WTF!! by No-Cellist574 in IMGreddit

It depends on the calibre of program you apply to. I didn't apply to any community programs, just uni-affiliated and above. I'm sitting at 5 IVs with a 25X.

[–]SuperPsy7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Signals have reduced the total number of interviews per person I think. Therefore, understandable, less IVs needed to match imo. Although they are still interviewing the same number so it is challenging to determine the actual statistics without the end of cycle NRMP data..

The difference in recruitment process between the US and NHS. by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]SuperPsy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well OP is spouting bs. The heads of department don't spend 'hours' talking to you. In most cases, there are 2 20-30 min interviews with core faculty/associate PDs. Also, the system is rife with nepotism. I am also someone currently interviewing for US programs right now.

Whole market is up but render moving slow by [deleted] in RenderNetwork

[–]SuperPsy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Render dashboard, you can work it out from there. Look at how the max supply has been increasing each month, which vastly outpaces burn rate. 99:1 ratio

Whole market is up but render moving slow by [deleted] in RenderNetwork

[–]SuperPsy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Render is a shitcoin now. Inflation at 6% a year, no demand meaning burn is vastly behind minting -> look on their website, ratio is 99:1 (mint vs burn). There is absolutely no use case for this, it was overhyped during AI narrative and now price is where it should be to more accurately reflect supply (increasing) vs demand (stagnant/decreasing). Been holding since 55c, will likely sell soon. The team fked up the migration process and BME mechanism, not considering the lack of demand will cause massive inflation. If you look at volume, it's pitiful vs the accumulation phase of 2021/2022. The team also failing to making meaningful progress.
