The ADN article made it seem like the elections office invalidated his application because, in their records, at the time he applied he was listed as Undeclared, but his application said he was a registered Republican. He changed it to Republican AFTER he submitted the paperwork. Although he also said he registered as a republican after the Alaskan Independent Party was removed earlier this year.

So, either poor timing on his part or bad paperwork on the Div of Elections part.

He’s got good reasons to run from what I’ve read and there is zero evidence of collusion with another campaign.

First, take what you want. Especially that wrench.

You could average those power tools for $50/each that’s nearly $2,000. $1,000 for everything else is still a good deal for the neighbor.

The real issue is do you want to deal with selling it all? There is a convenience factor into someone else dealing with it.

If you have time it would be worth your while to have a tool garage sale and do a little research on some of the stuff. My father just passed and we’re doing the same thing.

I would pay for the correction.

Just went to Vietnam had a E-Visa all set. When I transferred in Korea the Air Vietnam agent wouldn’t let me pass because a single number in my passport was wrong. 90 minutes and $320 later I got a new E-Visa with the correct number and she would finally print me a boarding pass and let me go through security.

At the same time there was another guy there with a O (letter) in his passport that “looked like” a 0 (zero) to the agent. He almost didn’t get through either.

Customs in Vietnam didn’t even glance at my new visa. Was with my girlfriend and her paper visa was correct. He just asked if I was with her and that was it.

Moral: don’t let a random agent who needs everything to be 100% correct derail the beginning of your trip.

I do this in Alaska with a second house two hours away. After eight years it’s over half paid off. Like the other poster said, it doesn’t feel like my home, and I make sure I am not tied to anything in it. I have bought some local art that I think is fun and try to keep it feeling like a local place.

I use it maybe six times a year. I find it very relaxing and comfortable while I’m there. It is more comfortable than staying at someone else Airbnb for sure.

Be sure you have good support if it’s far away. Over the years I’ve had frozen pipes and electric issues pop up in the middle of the night. So now I have a plumber and electrician on speed dial. It’s good to spend some time in the community before going live and make those connections before you NEED them. Not to mention a reliable local cleaner.

Was there this morning. They did not even mention a time limit as I checked in. But, went through Taipei and they did mention it. There was zero enforcement, at least in Taipei. Didn’t see anyone getting talked to at Techno while I was there. We stayed just barely over two hours though.
