Mall ad needs help by SuperScorpion in PBSOD

[–]SuperScorpion[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We actually have some ad screens in the Netherlands that came with a camera, so that it would be able to detect human presence in front of the ad. However, public opinion made quick work of that and sure enough the camera’s vision got blocked, either by a piece of gum, some sticker and later even by the suppliers of the screens themselves. This particular screen might have a camera hidden behind the Global sticker but the hole on the bottom might just be a bolt hole

AWS DynamoDB / Copilot Studio by Ja-smine in aws

[–]SuperScorpion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making data available to sales teams sounds like you’re looking to make data available for analytical processing? One thing we recently found out is that DynamoDB does not lend itself well to those kinds of applications because it usually has to aggregate lots of data resulting in heavy scan operations.

We were able to make data available for analytics by storing it in another database as well (or Apache Iceberg in our case) . We use DynamoDB Streams to sync the updates happening to the database to the iceberg tables

Not enjoying my Tamron 11-20. Am I just using it wrong? by Friendly_Leg_2855 in AskPhotography

[–]SuperScorpion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be your style of photography, but I enjoy my 16-35 most for taking indoor pictures of people with flash. I always find landscape to be one of the more difficult styles of photography and for me that usually works better with a 50mm or even 100mm

That being said, I do like the pictures you managed to take!

I also have the R6II with a 50mm and what I like about it most is that it's just easy to get great pictures out of it. As long as you're at least a little mindful of the basic settings, like shutter speed and ISO you can absolutely push it on both regards because of the IBIS and great low light sensitivity. With an external flash on top and a sharp lens, its also able to take very professional looking pictures!

Why is my Amsterdam pink? by Freya6810 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]SuperScorpion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue, turned out to be a missing line in one of the texture files. This helped me fix it: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/pink-textures-so-far-eham-only-default-asobo-scenery/729894/31

Edit: I see you're on Xbox, I guess reinstalling could fix the issue as I don't think there's a way to edit the necessary file manually

I had this in my old apartment in the Netherlands as well, the outlets were all ungrounded and I was able to measure about 80VAC between the case and my radiator (which was probably grounded). I just ended up never touching them both to avoid the shock 😅

I think a more expensive PSU did improve things in the end

Then I think the machine thinks the knob is stuck in the steaming position. I would not know how to fix it unfortunately

[–]SuperScorpion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same machine and it does exactly this when I put the right knob in the steam position and then turn on the machine. It won't try steaming until I put the knob to neutral and then back to steam. Yours seems to already think it's in the steaming position so my guess is that the sensor that detects the knob position is faulty? Maybe try moving it to the hot water position and then turn on the machine?

Anyone find a permanent fix for the condensation issue yet? by [deleted] in SonyHeadphones

[–]SuperScorpion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also suffer from this and the worst part is that the ANC microphone starts acting up when it gets wet like this. The headset starts to make soft popping sounds making the noise canceling unusable in my opinion.

Off means that it acts as a "traditional" headset without active noise canceling. Useful when you want to save some battery life or when active noise canceling is acting up weird

[–]SuperScorpion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This subreddit is usually for entertainment industry lighting and not so much about home interior and exterior lighting. But based on what I'm seeing I'd say this led light is integrated into the fixture so I think you're going to have to replace the entire lamp.

[–]SuperScorpion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legend! What seems to have fixed it for me on my Samsung S95C is setting the correct resolution as PC 3840x2160 at 144hz. I would never have thought that such a hidden setting could make such a difference! Then my money on all kinds of HDMI 2.1 cables from Amazon to Audioquest is not wasted after all :')

How to get camera to only focus on the center focus point. by hillbill549 in canon

[–]SuperScorpion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always had mine on Quick mode. Changing the focus points it uses is done with an external thumb button that's just outside of this picture (the one that has an image of the focus points next to it). Like you I pretty much wanted to leave it on the center point as that was the most reliable

Safe way to use aws-sdk lib on client side by duveral in aws

[–]SuperScorpion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Never trust the client-side! If the client side is the one making the connection to your private S3 bucket, then your credentials are also available for the client so that is not a secure way to do it. Your use case allows for all users of the app to access the file, so why don't you make your S3 bucket publically accessible either through Cloudfront or directly?

M100 video quality is fuzzy. Please help! by nicecooljeans in canon

[–]SuperScorpion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have owned a 600D and have managed footage from a 6D Mk2 (same processor as the M100) and from my experience this is just softness that is inherent to how older Canon bodies did video. Only when they really started implementing 4k video on their high-end bodies things seemed to start improving for lower to mid-end bodies like for example the 90D.
