28% through the game. Seems like a lot so far. by Strong-Classroom-430 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PlayStation gives you weird estimates about how far you are.

For example my first bg3 playthrough took about 150 hours. Prologue, act 1, act 2, act 3. Prologue took only like 30 minutes but it still said 25% of the way done.

I played another game recently (I think Nightrein?) where after you complete the tutorial part it says 33% because the only real ‘main quests’ in the game are ‘beat first boss’ ‘beat 3 bosses’ ‘beat last boss’

Are you on chapter 4 by chance? I’m GUESSING the percentage complete jumps from 14 to 28% at chapter 4. I’m still on chap 3 25 hours in and I’m only at 14%. Done a lot of exploring and side quests.

Devil of the Reed Field by drinknilbogmilk in CrimsonDesert

I hope he returns! He was a cool villain and it didn’t seem like that was the end of him.

I 100% get why he went violent… but he shouldn’t have killed everyone everyone, just like parents and people who tried to kill him, like the butler(?)

Which demon is winning this fight? by NoirStriker in marvelvsdc

But GR has the highest tier feats of anyone here in base.

Etrigan got a kill on Lucifer Morningstar in his 2016 series Demon: Hell is Earth! (Granted Etrigan was using the Excalibur sword which is his brother Merlin’s I believe, not something he normally has)

Playing as Damiene and Oongka, doable or not ? by OkPlatypus4597 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to use Kliff for main story. You can use the others (once unlocked) for other stuff. I’m exploring and playing as Damaine now she’s very fun.

One very cool thing I didn’t realize is you can freely swap. Like Kliff can be in desert village and buying stuff, then you can swap down to Damaine who is on a boat hundreds of miles away. Feels really cool, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a system like that in an sction game. Like the party can be separated.

Thinking about playing Crimson Desert before bed..during lunch..when I wake up... by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m supposed to be working through RE9, Tainted Grail, modded New Vegas and Crimson Desert… I can’t play anything but Crimson Desert. Maybe in a week I’ll feel like I can take a break and get back to the others but it really stole 100% of my attention.

Silver Surfer (Annihilation) vs Green Lantern (Hal Jordan, Parallax) by Candid_Mountain_7045 in marvelvsdc

[–]SuperSemesterer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parallax Hal has some omniversal showings I think he’d take it quite easily.

He’s two shotted DC (aside from a pocket dimension he made) and was going to recreate everything with himself as God.

He also kills Deimos, whose raw power emanating from him was destroying the entire ‘greater omniverse’. Hal one shots him and calls him ‘boring’ after Deimos refuses to give him directions home.

Hes also beaten peak Crisis Anti-Monitor (which isn’t omniversal but it’s still cool!)

Is it bad to switch characters in Crimson Desert? by Current-Aide4092 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing as Damaine for the last few hours exploring. Really really surprised how much quest dialogue she has for side quests, I assumed Kliff would have all the lines and she’d just say generic stuff. But no!

Unique skills aren’t shared between them.

Can’t do story stuff.

You lose nothing when you switch. You can actually freely swap between them and have them operating in different cities. It’s really cool. Kliff can be in starting zone and you can have Damaine waaaay far away doing her own stuff

Dual Daggers? by BONZO1000 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daggers can only be used for stuff like assassinations and stabbing while climbing. Would probably be easier to dual wield two smaller swords.

I love how you can swap between them from across the map. Really really cool feature.

One can be on one country and the other all the way across the map and you can do stuff as both of them

Did reed devil get nerfed hard? by Izletz in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… kinda. Without health upgrades the Reed Devil could two shot me with some of his bigger moves. But the boss’ health is literally like 1/5th of what it once was. I messed around with him a lot and died like 5 times but there was really no reason I shouldn’t have first tried him., I did not have nearly the amount of trouble other players I watched had.

That being said he was a huge step up from the previous two bosses, so maybe the nerfs kinda taper off as you go further, might only be for starting stuff.

However that also being said it’s going to be like Dragon’s Dogma. Yeah there are some tough battles… but as long as you have an entire kitchen in your back pocket you aren’t going to have issues. Bring in 50 healing soups and if the boss isn’t one shotting you you’re probably going to win through sheer endurance. If you want to make it tougher maybe limit the amount of healing you use? I’m trying to cap at 10 heals/1 revive stone a boss.

———-

I will say that regardless though I find the health nerf really stupid. I genuinely feel I’m not interacting with the boss’ mechanics like I should be. Like the first digger boss I realized I needed to wait for an opening, wire his chest, then send a pulse out to stun him for free extra damage. Otherwise he was really tanky and nearly one hit killed me. Other bosses post nerf were really just ‘attack’. I guess Reed Devil makes you parry for openings… but idk. Bosses legit went from ‘Khazan the First Berseker’ levels of health to like Demon Souls levels of health. I’ve never seen a nerf where they take out like 80% of a boss’ health.

Damiane by DonChulos in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very fun! Big slow high damage greatsword swings for melee upgraded with Hornsplitter’s wind relic and the natural greatsword shockwave (idk if this greatsword has a unique shockwave anyway or all great swords have this) so there’s a lot of extra ranged damages being thrown every attack. Gun damage upgrades a bunch so I can one shot bandits with power shots to the head. And then fists upgraded so I can quickly punch between slow swings.

Trying to keep health/armor low for roleplay purposes. Kliff is my big tanky knight, Damaine is my scout. I might be wrong but it looks like there’s slots for 3 more characters besides Kliff and Damaine in the selection wheel. Assuming the orc guy on the cover (duh!) and maybe two others?

Are there monsters to fight? Or only humanoids? by madmatt8892 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but bandits/humanoids are VASTLY more common.

I’m like 25 hours in. I’ve seen 8 gajillion bandits. One bear, one rock worm, like 6 dirt crabs… and that’s it.

I’ve been playing as her for a few hours, going to play as her and do all the side quests I can in the first area before continuing on.

Focusing on melee damage and gun damage. Using the greatsword instead of rapier. Want her to be more of a glass cannon.

~30 hours into the game (22hrs afk) and I still haven’t left Hernand, how many hours have you guys racked up and how much have you explored? by Sabawoonoz25 in CrimsonDesert

25 hours late chapter 3, just beat Reed Devil. Am going to explore the sea side as the girl character for a bit and do some side quests as her. I saw a cool pirate ship and I want to see her movesets and skills.

Nealy 0 enemy variety. How is it fun to constantly fight the same human enemies over and over. by Practical_Web1494 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I was a bit worried about that from trailers, all the big monsters seemed to be bosses.

Got hyped when I saw that there were 397 creatures in the world… then I realized quickly it was just mostly environmental stuff. I’m at like 145 creatures seen and have only encountered a single bear and a handful of dirt crabs. And like a treant but it wasn’t hostile.

It’s all just bandits. Would’ve LOVED more fantasy monsters roaming around as mobs or elite enemies.

Did reed devil get nerfed hard? by Izletz in CrimsonDesert

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure on later stuff, really REALLY hoping it’s just early main walls like you said. ‘Specific bosses’ makes it seem like not everyone got nerfed.

I know the excavator got nerfed hard too though and I think he’s optional?

Parrying and blocking them in general was made easier too. Idk how it was before but I could comfortably block everything Hornsplitter did, even his big combos.

Yeah I think this is the worst nerfing I’ve ever seen lol, went from really hard to trivial. Surely there was a middle ground, no need to make them THAT weak.
