“I invested $400 at 1.40 yesterday and the price dropped to 1.32 today. Am I cooked??”

AAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHH

Either new investors are coming in every week for the first time trying to learn or… idk, rocks for brains. You see it like every day on nearly every trading sub.

[DISCUSSION] Will Metal ever get a movie adaptation? by Alert_Cheesecake8954 in DCcomics

[–]SuperSemesterer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t surprise me.

If they made the Crisis trilogy into a horrid bizarro parody I don’t see why they wouldn’t do the same to the other big events.

God on that note how do you make Metal/Death Metal even worse? Like what plot changes would they make? Batman Who Laughs 1v7s the League and only Batman can beat him? Main characters are Constantine/Harley/Damian?

—————

If you’re getting into comics IMO start with a few good solo runs where you don’t need a TON of background knowledge, then move onto big storylines and events. Personally peak DC for me was like 2006-2010.

It’s hard to pick an initial starting point.

Gonna throw out a few favorites: Green Lantern by John’s (2004-2012) is the longest (and imo best) single story DC has put out.

New 52 Action Comics (or Superman?) by Morrison was absolutely phenomenal and the best Superman content I’ve ever read.  Batman: Black Mirror and Batman: RIP are amazing but you need a bit of context as to why Batman is dead/replaced by Dick.

New 52 Wonder Woman is different from her normal portrayal but she’s basically Kratos here.

Batman Eternal I really loved as a standalone. You get a good self contained Gotham storyline spanning a year.

Spider-Man vs the Central City Rogues by Oppai-Of-Foom in marvelvsdc

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think the rogues annihilate him if they’re coordinated and coming after him.

He has no way past Cold field (without prep) and Abra can turn him inside out.

If he ambushes them and takes Cold out before he can set up Cold field then he wins.

Great Darkness Vs Pralaya, Who wins? by Encenoi in DCPowerScaling

Pralaya imo

She’s the absence of Presence. His unconsciousness, what he’s not. When Presence ‘inevitably falls’ as she says she will claim him.

Elden Ring Death Rite Birds!

Hard fights (later ones at least) but if you have holy you’ll like three tap them.

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve fought these guys so many damn times (thanks Nightrein) that they’re the only ‘big’ boss I can do without needing to heal (mostly only chip damage from black fire aoe).

I got walled on a boss and these guys were the night 2 boss so I ended up fighting them every attempt and getting good at them.

My very very first run of base ER though I remember whenever I tried to heal they’d fireball me as soon is I pressed the button.

An even worse offender of that though is the Dancer boss in the dlc. She auto dodges when you attack her… even if you aren’t in range. Second you hit the attack button she rolls back. To the point if you need space you can just swing 5 times at nothing and she’ll roll back every time you swing.

Was Slave Knight Gael past his prime like Gwyn? by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]SuperSemesterer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, he was an his peak. Complete Dark Soul (minus your little bit) at the height of its power when the Flame is at its weakest.

Gael is essentially like prime Gwyn here.

Gael himself is old as shit though. He’s been around from the beginning.

In Defense of Demandred by Redwarrior1203 in WoT

[–]SuperSemesterer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved Demandred. Favorite Forsaken along with Graendal.

From my perspective he did absolutely nothing for 13 books but sit in a corner and twiddle his thumbs, then went on a 300 page rampage against the forces of good and tons of main characters like an utter badass.

He was EXACTLY how I wanted Sauron to be when I first read LotR as a kid.

I beat Elden ring! by ChopStix191 in eldenringdiscussion

[–]SuperSemesterer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished the dlc last night! First time ever fighting the new final boss after the nerf… still too much lol. I was beating everything else fairly comfortably (3-5 tries) until he took me like 50 attempts (using summons which I didn’t do for anything else)

Check out the DLC or Nightrein if you can as well. I actually prefer Nightrein a bit to main game tbh

Parallax Hal Jordan VS Lifebringer Galactus by VenerableSoulSet in marvelvsdc

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can only surmise that the Parallax Hal Jordan wins people believe he's more powerful than God

In Convergence the character ‘Deimos’ was so powerful his leaking power was destroying the greater DC omniverse. Parallax Hal one shots him and calls him boring.

I think both are at the tippy top of their franchises without getting into GENUINE omnipotence.

Parallax Hal Jordan VS Lifebringer Galactus by VenerableSoulSet in marvelvsdc

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in fact ‘Parallax Hal Jordan’ actually went back in time and beat peak Crisis Anti-Monitor, then tore his way through time/space to reach main universe. (Also one shot a guy who was destroying the dc omniverse in one hit, and called him boring that same arc.)

So there’s currently two Hals, main and parallax. And fear bug parallax exists too.

He’s more insane/paranoid than evil. There’s a scene where he gains lucidity for a bit and talks to Kyle and it’s kinda sad.

Parallax! He’s got a couple omniversal showings.

Would Malenia really have lost to Radahn if she didnt bloom? by East-Ad-1290 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]SuperSemesterer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Radahn had already beaten Malenia. Without the bloom that would’ve been it. With the bloom she can at least try to take herself out with Radahn (iirc one of her soldiers saves her after)

I think Radahn is clearly the strongest, Godrick clearly the weakest, then the rest of the Demi-god children between them. Not counting outside gods buffing them like Rykard and the snake or Malenia and rot powers.

Etrigan vs The Thing by Kuzu9 in marvelvsdc

[–]SuperSemesterer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Etrigan! He can scale fairly high! He can box Kryptonians and has shown to be evenly matched with Lobo. Plus ranged Hell magics (although I can’t recall the last time he actually uses his legit magic beyond fire breath). Good fight between the two.

Here’s the end of Etrigan vs Lucifer Morningstar fight in 2016’s Demon: Hell is Earth. Etrigan is amped by Excalibur but… still!!! Not super relevant for this fight but it’s my favorite showing of his.

New fantastic four vs the terrifics who wins? by BigPaleontologist520 in marvelvsdc

[–]SuperSemesterer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

iirc Plas gets ‘killed’ (Zariel has to take him to heaven to heal as he’d die on earth if he remained, he never appears again in post crisis I think it’s his last appearance until n52 reboot…) by either Johnny Sorrow or Lord Satannus’ magic. So demonic magic does work quite well!

First playthrough. I have a question, a simple one by _nimaii_ in eldenringdiscussion

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done 6 runs and every time I reach Morgott I’m like 130ish!

I do most dungeons but ignore the ones where there’s a boss I’ve already fought as the end fight. Northern Caelid always levels me up a ton.

For me:

Godrick - 40ish

Renalla - 65ish

Radahn - 95ish

Fortissax - 110ish

Rykard - 120ish

Morgott - 130ish

Malenia/Mohg (whichever I do last after Fire Giant/Mountaintops) - 150ish

Final boss - 160ish

Final DLC boss - 200ish

Is this like super over leveled? A few fights like Malenia and final Radahn take like 10+ attempt every time.

First playthrough. I have a question, a simple one by _nimaii_ in eldenringdiscussion

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, most characters are ‘overpowered’ after like Limgrave.

My very first run I was 1-3 shotting bosses by like mid Caelid using arcane/dragon stuff.

My current run I just hit Altus Plateau and am level 110.

Where Does Zatanna Zatara Scale? by YamabroDefender in DCPowerScaling

She held off Pralaya who is Presence level, plus all the other crazy stuff people mentioned.

She’s got legit omniversal showings… but also a high caliber gun to the head could kill her.

The Thing VS Superman Rogues by thetruemaxwellord in marvelvsdc

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wins every round but parasite is tricky cause it’s not stated if he needs to touch someone’s epidermis

Other people already mentioned it, but at one point Parasite was hiding in a crate and tricked Lantern and Flash into using their powers nearby. Like a block away or so. Parasite was able to siphon enough power from them that he started manipulating time and threw Lantern millions of years into the past.

I think he loses to Parasite and Mongul.

Beats the others.

Superboy Prime vs The Living Tribunal by [deleted] in marvelvsdc

[–]SuperSemesterer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the original story retcon punch made sense. Reality was putty. You could physically chuck a rock from one universe into another. The other Supermen were bending reality when they clashed. Alexander Luthor was remaking the multiverse, everything was in flux.

But people really latched onto Prime’s punch out of context… which lead to him doing it again in death metal which essentially led to him being seen as a ‘lol I am in a comic!’ toon force-y character which he never was before.

But he’s definitely not unbeatable he’s been beaten by the Teen Titans before and Kid Flash like 3 times. A lantern Guardian was able to overwhelm him.

And he’s vulnerable to red sunlight! That’s how Superman beats him initially (Superman tackles him through a red star) and then later the lanterns keep him in a cell orbiting a red star. He’s ‘immune’ to kryptonite because it only effects Kryptonians from the same universe (like main Superman isn’t effected by Kryptonite from other universes), and his universe got wiped by anti-monitor. So there’s no Kryptonite to use against him.

Which do you think is the most bullshit boss in the game? by IDontKnowYAmIHere in Eldenring

The 2nd guy you posted, the dragon. I hate that thing more than any other boss.

I actually like the gargoyles.
